Mark himself had previous long bouts with alcohol after losing his two teenage children within a year of each other. Mark would fall in love with the boys and girls he was about to meet at Helbrook, as well as a young therapist, Claudia Calvert. This story certainly isn’t for the faint of heart, yet in reality it is a beautiful love story as many as these kids respond to Mark’s kindness and compassion, accomplishing great strides in getting their young lives back together. In the end however, a terrible and horrible fate awaited many of these kids as well as Mark and many of the people working there.
