Well written

I'm well versed in Lit RPG audiobooks, having listened to over 300 in the last 10 years. There are good, and there are bad. There are those that you simply can't finish because they are so sloppy and bad, and there are those that have a good enough story to listen to, and good dialogue, but still lack that "something" that actually makes the story flow seemlessly and be a joy to listen to. You listen and finish the story, but sometimes it seems more like a chore to finish than the escape you want.
This is neither of those. This is well written and well narrated. This falls in that top 10 percent that you literally and actually ( I know) look forward to getting back into each day and regret when it's finished.
The author reminds me of Kyle Kirrin in his writing style and I'm sure there is some influence there. I easily enjoyed this as much as the Ripple System series, as there were several similarities. The narrator used was new to me, but I will go ahead and put him on the level of Travis Baldree. That man has some competition now.
Anyway, I know this was long winded--- so if you made it this far I apologize. However, I thought this book deserved more than just a thumbs up.
ALSO --- loved the fact that I wasn't subjected to pages and pages of repetitive stats every 20 minutes. Wilbur Woods understands what needs to be said and what doesn't. Thank you for a refreshingly enjoyable Lit RPG style book.

I loved the whole level up and the the gun is cool for me also the powers are different from many others.

Could have been great

I really hate it when a MC tries out a new ability, is amazed that it works, and then immediately doesn’t use it to solve his next problem and the whole time the author uses dramatic language trying to convince me that the MC is NOT an idiot but never addressing why aforementioned ability won’t work. The story is pretty good and I really like the character build……. But seriously, just because we like this genre doesn’t mean we’re slobbering idiots. Still, a pretty decent story.

Meh…

The whole thing was just ok. Basic story and basic narration. There are better books with sentient weapons out there.

Great Magic, Great Characters, Great Series!

I love the magic in this series. gravity magic, but different than what you normally see. I really enjoy the whole tethering concept. Maybe that's just me. I don't know, I digress. I'm enjoying the character development thus far. To watch him struggle to do what he, and we, know needs to be done and him also trying to keep his humanity. Then you have The Maverick. I love The Maverick. Thats all that needs said there.

I like the story thus far, im interested to meet all of the races that are caught up amd I really hope we get to see him sock it to the man (alien) behind the curtain.

I definitely plan on continuing this series!
