Power is returning to the world after millennia, ancient constructs are stirring back to life, and one man is doing his best to ignore all that noise.

Fischer has everything he needs in life: blossoming friendships, a menagerie of cute animal companions, a waterfront property with easy access to fishing, and enough coffee to take out a small elephant or a really big dog.

Unfortunately, Fischer can't catch a break. Cosmic forces? Still throwing curveballs. The bigwigs in the capital? Starting to sniff around his business. Cults? Still culting. Plus, awakened beings are washing up on his shores like flotsam after a storm. And worst of all? His coffee guy ghosted him!

It's a lot for one heretical fisherman to handle. Thankfully, Fischer isn't alone. Between his trusty guard crab, a mischievous otter who can wreathe herself in lightning, and an adorable bunny eager to solve every problem with a roundhouse kick, he'll be just fine . . . probably.

The second volume of the laugh-out-loud LitRPG adventure series—a #1 Rising Star on Royal Road with more than three million views—now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook!

Critic reviews

“I can’t think of a single story I’d rather get truck-kun’d (truck-kunned?) into than [that of] the vivid, lush world portrayed in Heretical Fishing, especially if I can hang out with Fischer and his gang. . . . The best book I’ve read this year.” —Matt Dinniman, New York Times–bestselling author of Dungeon Crawler Carl

The story doesn’t really make sense, and the progression is completely silly, but it’s just a chill style book. If you don’t want to worry about details and mostly just chill and watch a MC randomly succeed at everything, this is what you’re looking for.

Cosy style slice of life with no stakes.

If you are a fan of He Who Fights With Monsters, this is the series for you. The author is a fan of the other series and sites it occasionally, and uses the same voice actor. It is lighter hearted and one of the easiest listens you will find. can't wait for the 3rd.

My favorite new series.

All the fun antics of the spirit critters and the ridiculous names. Unpretentious and entertaining story.

Great interplay of characters

Keith Miller is a great narrator. This is a fantastic continuation of the Heretical Fishing series. I enjoy the characters and story line. It is a little weird how politically correct everything in the book is, but sometimes casual about throwing around f$!k. I enjoy it as an adult but wouldn’t recommend it for kids.

Thoroughly Enjoyable
