THE STORY

The Indomitus Crusade burns across the stars, while new threats emerge to challenge the Imperium's resurgence.

As the Kingdom of Iron is secured and the Primarch Reborn's thoughts turn to future salients, the Arch-enemy strikes back against the Indomitus Crusade's forces. The shrine worlds of the Golden Chain are all but broken, and only Velua remains defiant. Canoness Irinya of the Order of Our Martyred Lady and Champion Gaheris of the Black Templars hold the line, fighting against the plague-ridden cultists reducing the planet to anarchy.

For the Space Naval fans, it's great. Otherwise, not the best in the series.

The story plot was suspenseful, action for naval warfare quite detailed, plenty of interesting characters, but otherwise it wasn't that compelling, thrilling or interesting for me. and the ending just felt below average to what I've gotten used to in the Dawn of War saga.

Definitely much weaker than the others

Unfortunately this was weak enough of an entry for me to second guess continuing. There’s a lot of Warhammer books to choose from right now, so it’s hard to recommend,

Good story, especially for the Sororitas

The Adepta Sororitas have some of the most fun and messed up lore in the 40k universe, so reading about them is always a joy. This book stays on that track and we get a great look at Martyrs, Battle Sisters, and even some good ol' Arco-Flagellants. What a joyous, horrendous group the latter is. Overall, from a plot standpoint this book does not seem to add a ton in the grand scheme, which appears to be a theme in these middle books of the series, but you can tell that the authors are working towards something by this point. Listen to it and enjoy the beautiful voice of John Banks.

Hard to get into

The writing and character development was as good as always and the story wasnt bad. Just didn’t capture my interest like other 40k books have. I have a long drive into work and listen a LOT. This book just didnt hold my interest and i found my self listening to others after 20mins of this one.

Slow Starter

It’s a slow start. But once you get into it, it’s an amazing story. By the end you don’t want to stop listening
