The Blackwood Pack saga continues....

This is part of an on-going series by Amazon best-selling author, Mary Rundle, and catching up on previous titles is advised. Listeners of the past books will enjoy meeting old friends once more as the pack does what it does best - caring for one another and helping shifters everywhere.

Enforcer Dylon Royd worked for the notorious Silver Point Pack until they accused him of disloyalty. Imprisoned and beaten to within an inch of his life, he's dumped at the side of a road and left for dead. Waking up in the Blackwood Pack's hospital, he's shocked to discover his Fated Mate is one of the pack's members he'd been ordered to kill.

Cody is a seer and has grappled with visions all his life, but after most of his family is massacred they have intensified so fiercely he begins to make plans to escape his pain and suffering. Thinking no one wants a freak for a Fated Mate, he tries to reject Dylon until he realizes his salvation depends on accepting him.

A life or death situation for Cody, a rare gift to both from the Fates, a dangerous mission, and an unexpected surprise are some of the challenges they face. Together they begin a journey to save Cody's life while forging a partnership that requires absolute trust for both to survive.

Fantastic third book

I am loving this series so much. Despite the tragedy the brothers suffer, life is moving forward for them and it's such a pleasure watching them find their fated mates. It's Cody's turn and oh my what a complex character he is. He is literally at the edge of a precipice and Dylan came into his life just in time. We also get to see what's happening with the rest of the pack. The story continues seamlessly and we are also introduced to some new and interesting characters. I'm looking forward to Ice Soul. Nick's narration was superb, I enjoyed his portrayal of Peace Maker.

Great listen

When I came across the first three of these books on audio I was kind of put off by the images of the covers. I didn't think a book with a cover like that would be any good. However I couldn't be more wrong. You know the old saying don't judge a book by its cover well in this case that's the truth. However I didn't want to pay so much for a book that I may not like. So instead of buying the audiable I bought the actual book I read the first book and truly loved it so I ended up buying all three of the available audiobooks. Don't get me wrong I was hesitant to buy even the book I read some comments and reviews about how this book only has a bunch of sex in it every other page all you read is sex. But after reviewing in reading the first book I came to conclusion that that's not the truth there is a good amount of story line that goes along with each book yes there is sex in the book yes it is kind of a lot but it does not take away from the actual story line that's going on in the book. You have to read the series of books to fully understand what's the story line is and how it unfolds so yes maybe in the first book you may not get so much of the storyline but it gets you enough of the storyline to make you hooked and wanting to buy the second book and then second book you get more of the story line so on and so forth. And I could tell you now that I can't wait for the fourth book to come on to audio because I will be buying it.

I loved this as a story but hearing it come to life brought it to a new level. This is one of my favorite narrators.

I loved it; great audio performance!

I loved returning to The Blackwood Pack saga. This is a continuing series best read in order so not everything will be concluded in this story. There is a good HEA for the main couple, Dylon and Cody. As with the first two books, Nick J. Russo did an excellent job with his performance of this story.

Because the blurb is so detailed, I really recommend you read it. I’m going to say that this audiobook held my interest from start to finish and I listened to it straight through. The story was compelling and kept me on the edge of my seat in places. Both Dylon and Cody go through some pretty rough patches.

This is a series that I definitely want to continue listening to. If you can’t wait for the next one to come out as an audiobook, books 1-9 are available to read now in Kindle Unlimited.

A copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Friskey Shifters

Audiobook Review by Mel
5 Blue Roses
5 Blue Flames

All hail narrator Nick J. Russo! He gave a howling hot performance of the hottest paranormal shifter romance of the year! Listeners will want to hop on, and never get off, this gravy train of never-ending fucking. Nick just kept his head high and proudly read the sex scene after sex scene. Hitting home runs, tapping all those bases, more than once, even backward, with or without lube. Those frisky shifters were slamming it almost too much.

I am impressed with how many voices Nick can do. I heard more than ten voices. His voice manipulation and tone of his regular reading voice has grown into his own. Gone are the monotonous reading, look out world here come Nick J Russo! Every audiobook I hear narrated by him just gets better every time.

As for the shifters, how they ever ended up dying out I will never know. This series is peppered with paranormal beings, insta-love, and ice-bucket challenge matings. I loved every moment of it. I got sucked into the drama of the plot and each time we flip over to mating shenanigans, I wanted to howl at the moon. I wanted to pull my hair out, the tension and story were truly gripping. I was so invested in it, for the first time in my life, shhh (don’t tell anybody), I skipped the sex to get to the story.

I look forward to the rest of this series. I absolutely recommend it.

Happy Listening

Love Saves the Lost! Loooovvvvee! 💕

Peacemaker (audiobook)
MMy Thoughts and Confessions:

I have loved this shifter series since I first listened to book one, last Spring (2020). Rundle takes shifter lore to a whole new level with the Blackwood pack. This pack of brothers have suffered such loss, but never strayed from their moral compass. These brothers instead chose to band together and stand against their foes, extending their hand to others in need and because of their fortitude, the Fates have blessed them.

One at a time, beginning with their Alpha, each brother is not only finding the other half of their soul, but they are each also endowed with extraordinary gifts and abilities to strengthen the pack and help other shifters in need.

I love the humor found among the brothers in these books, along with the camaraderie among everyone in the pack. Sure, there are issues, as with any group larger than two, but they work together to find solutions to their problems and know their love and friendship will remain their cornerstone.

“Peace Maker,” picks right up after “Raphael’s Power,” which I must add completely rocked my world. When the nearly lifeless body of a shifter is brought into the pack’s hospital, Cody discovers the body belongs to his true mate. He knows without the help of Ian and his brother Colton, his mate, his future, and his sanity will be lost forever.

Book three holds elements of hurt/ comfort in it (no angst), along with a D/s relationship that was beautifully executed through its writing style, by the author. It is not over the top, fluffy, or grim, but a well thought out and beautiful evolutionary relationship between the two MCs. It has been a while since I have enjoyed this type of relationship in a story. Well done, Ms. Rundle.

There were also plenty of action sequences and tumultuous moments to keep the listener interested, as the story unfolded. The romance and sMMexy times abounded and never felt forced or placed in the story, “just because,” but organically were part of the storyline.

As always, I love that *extra something* Nick J. Russo adds to a story. His storytelling is so genuine you feel as if a dear friend is in the room with you, relaying the words personally.

If you love shifter series, but feel they are all the same, give “The Blackwood Pack Series,” a try. This is one series that does stand out above the rest.
