Max was a professional soldier, and extremely good at his job. Right up until it killed him.

At the moment of his death, he meets Hildi the Valkyrie, and is given three options. With his new status as one of the Battleborne, much is expected of Max. Dangerous and difficult quests are presented to him, and the loot ranges from filthy goblin loincloths to epic weapons!

I didnt know i was buying what is now a favourite in my audiobook library.

Didn’t expect the gaming leveling thing. Still a good story expertly narrated. Looking forward to the next book.

Great story

very good narration and story. the characters are all likeable and it the main character feels realistic and competent. honesty it was all around a great read recommend that everyone try it.

Amazing!!

This story was an epic tail of ups and downs, action, adventures, comedic relief, and relatable characters. It's was very easy to become attached to the characters and Emersed in the story. I couldn't stop listening, even made me late to work a couple times extending the sleep timer haha.

Another excellent Book

Another excellent start to a series by Dave Willmarth! An interesting beginning to a developing plot. The characters are certainly intriguing and have plenty of room to develop. The narration was excellent! All in all an excellent listening experience!
