Far, Far Better Than Stalker

Feel held by the unseasonable twinkling of bawdily placed windchime. Now I can finally take down every piece of Live, Laugh, Love signage hanging about the car I live in because after this movie/monograph I’ll never again need a reminder. Hope Ayoade gives the film Down Periscope a proper treatment in his next literary adventure.

The premise of this good was ridiculous and hilarious, not to mention that Ayoade' narration reminded me of his characters on TV of which I was so fond. I plan on listening to it again.

There's Ayoade, then there's Ayoade on Top

Reminiscent of Douglas Adam's and incredibly funny. more than worth your time. But be careful! Ayoade's calming voice will make you want to fall asleep, particularly while driving.

Inspired, Ironic, Digressive

Bought the book originally in print; it was immediately clear the book would be better in Ayoade's literal voice. It was.

The book is a natural successor to Sterne and Shklovsky: it's masterfully constructed of a string of effective digressions. Ayoade modernizes the form with self-deprecating self-reference to wonderful, humorous effect.

Ayoade's performance highlights his uniquely ironic timbre and renders this experience a gem.
