Publisher's summary

Anne Shirley...in her own words.

Anne is at one of her "bends in the road" as she is about to finally leave Green Gables to study at Redmond College with a certain Gilbert Blythe. Anne, taking a wistful look around her east gable room, thinks back to her tearful first night at Green Gables and faintly remembers hiding her secret diary somewhere...Anne finds and opens her diary, and it transports her way back to her forgotten past, to relive her days at the cold and bleak orphanage asylum, where she still somehow managed to have a series of remarkable adventures....

enjoyed this book

As a child I loved the classics and read as many as possible. I still love the classics. It was interesting reading about Anne's life before she met Marilla and Mathew. I think the author did a good job if keeping the character of Anne like the Character in the original books by L. M. Montgomery.

Well Done

Another interesting story for readers who enjoy these stories of Anne. A time to once again enjoy the mayhem and mischief, with her temper that often got the better of her. These take one back to the beginning, the tears and life in the children’s home. Very well done, and enjoy spending time with Anne again. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Well done prequel

In this novella, Anne finds her secret diary, written at the orphan asylum and right after she arrived at Green Gables. In the diary we learn more about Anne's life and the other orphans, or so it seems.

I can never decide which I like more, the rag tag little orphan from the first book, or the lovely young woman Anne becomes in the later books. This story has a little bit of both while Anne reminisces about her life before Green Gables, when she was at the orphan asylum. If you love the scrapes Anne gets herself into, you'll love this book. It's a quick listen and brought back how much I loved the series.

The narration was well done and kept me immersed in the story. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
