Publisher's Summary

Eleven years of Parker Stevens' life have sped by, the time moving so slowly, he’d assumed he would be in the mental institution forever for the murders he’d committed when he was 15. His days are monotonous and uneventful...until he is released and meets her.

She elicits a feeling in him so strong that a power awakens within his very being. He doesn’t recognize himself or understand why the power ignites whenever he’s around her. Either way, Parker knows he’s in love.

Luna is trapped. She lives with the man who kidnapped her as a child and subsequently raised her. Now, she’s his lover, a role she is forced to portray and to accept. However, it doesn’t stop her from hating his guts. She remains because she is indebted; she must continue to use herself as payment in order to free her father from captivity. But then she meets Parker, the man’s nephew, and starts to want something...for herself...for once.

Great story

This was my first Yolanda Hatcher novel and I loved it. This fantasy story had me hooked and at the edge of my seat from beginning to end. There was never a dull moment, the story was fast paced, intriguing, well-written and engrossing with twists and turns along the way. The main characters Luna and Parker had intense chemistry and the other characters were all so interesting and had so much to offer.  I greatly enjoyed the audible version of this novel. It was Narrated by Anne-Marie Agbodji, Jason Clarke, Amanda Leigh Cobb and John York. They did an amazing job with the characters and giving life to them.  The story ended in a cliff-hanger and I can't wait for the next book. I would highly recommend this story. It was a great read.

Great first book in the Series

This was my first Yolanda Hatcher's book and definitely won't be the last. This paranormal romance story is really well written, complex, interesting, captivating and entertaining. I love the story of Parker and Luna. Their chemistry is really strong! The other characters are also very interesting. The storyline is filled with twist and turns and the story ends with a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book in the Series! The narration is absolutely breathtaking and exceptionally well done. The narrators have a great voice, easy to listen. I really enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

I loved this book!

This story took me places I never expected. A few surprises I didn’t see coming and the excitement of becoming something greater than you ever thought possible. The perfect combination of sadness, angst, love & magic. My only negative about this book is at times there was so many layers of information and back story that I got confused! It didn’t stop me from continuing and moving on and I’m glad I did. I don’t like cliffhangers but that will not stop me from listening to book 2. The narration was really good except at times the male narration didn’t quite pull off the accent of the female character but again, I didnt care because other than that the narration was amazing. I would recommend this story.

Fantasy Romance Excellence!

This is my first book by Yolanda Hatcher. I was hooked from the very beginning. This book kept me on my toes with twists and turns. The characters are complex and as the story progresses you learn more and more about those hidden layers - sometimes hidden even from themselves. I did not see it coming! I was pulled into another world in a seamless flow of worlds, caught up in the current and I couldn't put it down! If you are like me you will be screaming (internally) at characters to change direction, to react differently, to STOP. They will not listen, but strap in because this fantasy romance is worth the frustration, the angst, the tears, and the wait! I chose this book because Jason Clarke is one of my favorite narrators, but ALL of the narrators in this book are fantastic! The emotions of the characters bleed through in their performances such that I absolutely devoured the entire series and was never pulled out of character. All of the despair, loathing, want, lust, confusion, love, and vengeance had me on the edge of my seat. This first book is a cliffhanger, so plan on reading the first three books in succession for this story arc. I very highly recommend this series as one of the best so far in 2020!

Wow!

Loved it! The story, the characters, the narrators...everything is wonderful. This world is amazing and I can not get enough. The only pause is the last narrator was slightly odd, as the accent was that of Jersey shore and England. It didn't match the rest of the cast, but I still RECOMMEND this book. #AudiobookObsession

A Home Run

I didn't even realize this was a fantasy romance type novel when I read the summary of the book, so I had a lot of pleasant surprises as the story progressed. Man, Yolanda Hatcher hit it out of the park on this one. I was captivated the whole time I was listening. At first I kind of thought it was an insta love type, but it's definitely not; which I really liked. It's got unanticipated plot twists, fae, betrayal, romance and more. Excellent writing all the way around! I am super impressed and highly recommend it. The narrators also did an excellent job! I received a review copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for an honest review. Absolutely can't wait for the next one!

Great story, odd narration

This was a unique this for me. Having four different narrators made things a bit jumbled. I enjoyed listening to some more than others and I felt it broke up the story in kind of an odd way. That being said the story itself is really interesting. It's had some good twists and turns that kept me enraptured until the end. I'm really looking forward to the second volume. #audiobookobsessionreviewer

Ascension

This book! Oh, my goodness! This book gives life to an avid reader like me. It's like the water we need for our bodies. The intrigue, suspense, twists and turns will have you putting aside real world responsibilities. Also, the narration was excellent. Out of all the audiobooks I have listened to, this is one of the best I have heard. It seemed as if the narrators embodied the characters. I did not feel like I was listening to an audiobook. It felt like I was watching a movie, just without the picture effect. It was amazing! I can't wait to start reading part two.

This is an amazing story!

wow this one sort of blew my mind! it starts of slowly in a normal but rather dark and slightly mysterious fashion. As it moves on it gets stranger and stranger till it's so far from the normal world that you may think you've fallen down the rabbit hole. Brilliantly written with amazingly developed characters and plot! Cant waif for the next one. Highly recommended!

Wow what an amazing storyline, nothing in this story is what it seems. It is chalked full of twists, turns, intrigue, suspense, and Magic. The characters aren’t even who they proclaim to be, which brings me to the narrators, they did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life.

Love the narration

My favorite part of this intriguing yet sometimes confusing story is the narration. 4 different narrators gives clear voice to who is speaking however I wish it was done with them all speaking together. This was a very different kind of book. Elements of mystery and supernatural, dark and sexy.. A lot going on and a lot left unsaid. I am eager to read the second book to find out how it all comes together and to hear some additional music. Nice touch on that one. Very original story. #audiobookobsesion.

This was a very interesting book. The premise of it is a little different from other books in the genre. It kept me entertained and had a few surprises and twists too. The narrators did an excellent job with the characters' voices.

Seriously blown away!

I absolutely loved this book! What a storyline! Nothing is as it seems! The constant twists and turns kept me second guessing and changing emotions for characters. I can’t wait to see where Yolander Hatcher takes this story in the next book. Her writing is captivating and she explains things in a way that paints the picture perfectly, moulding the characters personality with precision. I gave the performances 4 out of 5 because I felt 1 of the narrators didn’t fit the character as well as the others, but oh what amazing narration! The characterisation was brilliant the voices captivating and expressive. I cannot recommend this audiobook enough it is definitely up there with my favourites! Now please let me have have the next one! 🎧AudiobookObsession
