Spice, romance, suspense, fantasy! it's got it all in spades and is automatically one of my favorites. can't wait for the next book!

God of Death

This story is not for everyone, but I love the story and Death.
Hanna is thrown into another realm and leaves you with the mystery of who or what she really is.
The spice is just right when you read the book instead of listening to it.
The narrator is not the best. Everything that is read sounds like a question or making portions of a sentence sound like an incomplete sentence. The narration ruins the sex scenes.

I love this book!
The Barbie mermaid! The scary unicorn!

I waited to listen to the second book before this review but sadly hated the male narration of the second book although the story keeps getting better and better.
You should absolutely listen to this book and then go over to kindle.

I love the originality of this story

River of shadows by Karina Halle

Hanna has just received new of her father’s death. She travels to Northern Finland to have a funeral for the loss of her father. Trading the nice warm sunshine of LA for the frigid weather of Finland. Hanna meets a mysterious man named Rasmus and notices her father is missing from the casket, her world turns upside down as the unreal becomes real!

She finds out about her father’s second life as a shaman and has been taken to an underworld… the realm of the dead. She is then told only she can save him.

This story was captivating and intense as all of Karina Halle’s books are. I was so wrapped up in the wonder and chaos of the world that this author creates! I loved it

Real Fantasy

Loved this book! Quick read and gets right to the point! I can’t wait to start the next book in the series! The FMC is funny and relatable and I absolutely love her! Daddy Death this is a MUST READ!!!!

Couldn't put it down

I was hesitant to dive into this one at first but D@MN!!! And that ending!! 🫣🤯

It wasn’t 100% for me, I was really really excited when I started it cause the reviews were so great, but for me it was ok…. It is a beauty and the beast meets mythology retelling, in theory, that’s amazing, however, I didn’t ever fully lose myself in the story. The romance never really seemed authentic to me, I wasn’t rooting for them to get together, it never seemed genuine. It wasn’t for me but I can say the writing was great and a beautiful world builder.

Great Voice but...

i loved the story itself and the voice narrator was good, but she didnt have a lot of variety in her tone, and couldnt tell if she was talking to someone or if it was just narrative in her thoughts, the male voices all sounded pretty much the same also.

What great narration!

If I didn’t know when I started listening to this book that there was only one narrator I would never had known. The narrator was amazing! Each character was brought to life by their own voice! The story itself drew me in and I love how heavily influenced by mythology/folklore this was!

Something new!!!

Love her writing. You will not be disappointed. The story is amazing, the smut is amazing and I want more!
