Publisher's Summary

Monsters lurk in dark places where shadows grow long. Evil prowls in quiet spaces where no one can hear your screams.

A late autumn hunt brings brothers Radu and Pavel face-to-face with an ancient evil. With no one to help them and nowhere to run, the brothers find that the prey they've been stalking is really a predator. And, they're the ones being hunted...

Fans of Bram Stoker and Anne Rice will love this terrifying novella about dark endings and terrible beginnings.

An End in Ice

I went into this book only seeing the title, cover, and author. I had no idea what the story would be about and I was truly entertained.

Rachel Ford really packed a punch in this short story. I felt for the characters and was even surprised at how it ended.

Joshua Quillin did a great job with expressing the emotions. He kept a great pace, and the story flowed.

Short but marvelous

I am always thrilled when someone can come up with a fresh perspective on a vampire tale instead of rehashing what's already out there. I found this character's tale very interesting. An excellent work. I received a free review copy of this audio book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Jane Austin meets Anne Rice

This is the eighth book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would listen to another. Great. Very reminiscent of Jane Austin era style writing with Anne Rice content. Not like her other books I’ve listened to (each series is so different on its own). It’s nice when an author has such varied talent.
The publisher’s summary is good. It’s the story of Radu.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Joshua Quillin ) and I would listen to another. He was a good match to this style of book. Voice of Radu was pretty whiny though (esp. when he was calling for his brother), I was cringing hoping the whole book would not be like that. Thankfully, it wasn’t.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

TIME FLIES WHEN YOU’RE THE UNDEAD

A narration of the beginnings of a vampire and how he fought to not become a monster. The book was almost a rambling string of events. It wasn’t captivating and could have been a bit more interesting.

The narration kept the book flowing throughout the events. Intonations were great and helped the book go smoothly.

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Short vampire read

Without reading what he book was about the picture drew me in. The name of the book was interesting but wasn't quite as much of a draw. Reading what it was about helped prepare me for what was to come in the start, but doesn't tell you about the end.

This book wasn't a long read/listen but it was all enjoyable throughout the book. The author really sets a good pace in this book, one I could follow at least.

The narrator did an awesome job bringing this story to light, giving a nice accent to characters. He kept a nice steady pace, no long gaps, no rushing words.

I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review of my own opinion of it.

Thought provoking

This story is the telling of a tale of a young man whose life is forever changed after an encounter which takes the life of his brother and changes how the world looks at him. It isn't long; but it grips you throughout as you wonder what next will happen to the young man.

The narration is good.
