Publisher's summary

The Roaring '20s: a time of bootleg gin and brick-wall massacres; Chicago in the grip of Capone; American fixated by Bonnie and Clyde. Chronicling the lives and times of a cast of characters both courageous and cold-blooded, American Mobsters takes the listener on an evocative journey through the lawless days of Prohibition, providing an earful of Tommy guns and terror; speakeasies and St. Valentine’s Day.

Historical facts presented in super clear manner.

What did you love best about American Mobsters?

What made all these characters tick, their background and thought processes. Well, many were resigned to a poor existence during a really tough economic time in our nations history. Growing up then, was surely not easy!

Who was your favorite character and why?

They were all bigger than life, and it is hard to pick any particular one as a favorite. I suppose Baby Face Nelson was favorite, since the book was leaning more to his story, in detail, than of the other mobsters.

Which scene was your favorite?

The opening, I thought it was a movie, and it was, in my head.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It just made me feel sorry for lives that were wasted, not just by the criminals, but their victims too. They deserved better in life than to be wasted by some cheap small time hood that didn't have a moral fiber in their entire being.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book it is well narrated and presented. I would like to see more of this type of books in the future at Audible.

Total waste of time

Don;t waste your time, this is just a rehash of information that has been out there for decades. Very boring.
