Publisher's Summary

One of the most highly regarded Tier One Delta Force operators in American military history shares his war stories and personal battle with PTSD.

As a senior non-commissioned officer of Delta Force, the most elite and secretive special operations unit in the US military, Command Sergeant Major Tom Satterly fought some of this country's most fearsome enemies. Over the course of 20 years and thousands of missions, he's fought desperately for his life, rescued hostages, killed and captured terrorist leaders, and seen his friends maimed and killed around him.

All Secure is in part Tom's journey into a world so dark and dangerous that most Americans can't contemplate its existence. It recounts what it is like to be on the front lines with one of America's most highly trained warriors. As action-packed as any fiction thriller, All Secure is an insider's view of "The Unit".

Tom is a legend even among other Tier One special operators. Yet the enemy that cost him three marriages, and ruined his health physically and psychologically, existed in his brain. It nearly led him to kill himself in 2014; but for the lifeline thrown to him by an extraordinary woman it might have ended there. Instead, they took on Satterly's most important mission - saving the lives of his brothers and sisters in arms who are killing themselves at a rate of more than 20 a day.

Told through Satterly's firsthand experiences, it also weaves in the reasons - the bloodshed, the deaths, the intense moments of sheer terror, the survivor's guilt, depression, and substance abuse - for his career-long battle against the most insidious enemy of all: post-traumatic stress. With the help of his wife, he learned that by admitting his weaknesses and faults he sets an example for other combat veterans struggling to come home.

- One of those books that truly make a difference

The subject of Special Forces has always intrigued me. Having served in the Marine Corps for 10 years as an Infantry Assaultman - there's always been certain mustique and I often question "what would have that been like" or "would I have had what it takes" At this point, that is a questions that will never be answered. However, vicariously - through this book, we all get a small glimpse of what that might have been like - even if just in the audio book form. But as I read further, this book turned out to be much more then a war story (there are plenty of those out there) This book - completely hooked me in - just by the fact it talked about Delta and before I knew it... it turned out to be a story of hope. I dont like to talk about my service and there are days that the memories hurt so bad that I despise them And at the same time, I despise the fact that I'm no longer there. It's weird, some days are better than another's, but some days or a living nightmare. Well... Here's a book written by a guy, who came right out and said it... Everything I've been struggling with for years. And what's more, is that he may have found a way out. So... maybe there IS a way out. Thank you Tom - for a bit of hope. I hope our paths cross someday.

UNFORGETTABLE

Amazing story of a true American hero who spent most of his life on a razors edge between life and death.

Spending 20 years with the most elite military unit expecting to die everyday would undoubtedly take an immense toll. Tom Satterly pulls you in and gives you a glimpse into that life as well as the physical and mental cost that can never be repaid.

The Real Truth of America’s Most Elite Killing Machines.

A brutally honest account of life’s high ups and tragic downs for one of our most elite soldiers. The last chapters were so difficult to listen to only because Tom lays out his very personal crash & burn.

PTS is military's failure, not the warrior's!

Great man. Great book. Great story of success. Struggle. Fight. Success. Heartfelt story. it's taboo to voice emotions in that culture, but that is the whole problem behind PTS.

This is an important book.

I really enjoyed this book on many levels. It gives an interesting account into the life of a special operations soldier. More importantly, it helps the average citizen understand the stresses and troubles that our veterans face after returning home from war. I consider this a must read for anyone who supports our troops.

Moving. Important. Inspiring.

Great book. I always enjoy reading and learning about our nation's elite Tier One operators and what they do every day to defend our freedom and keep us safe. To all of them, all those in the military, and their families - thank you is not nearly enough, but thank you. The unique aspect of All Secure is the author's willingness to expose his battle with PTS and put a name and a face on something that few are comfortable talking about. It takes an unimaginable amount of courage to be a Tier One operator for 20 years, and arguably more courage to write about, speak about, and embrace the battles that we all face at one point or another in our lives - obviously magnified and amplified by his time in the service. I know the All Secure Foundation is already helping countless veterans and their families and can only hope that it continues to grow and expand in the years ahead. Thank you for your service and thank you for writing such an important and inspiring book.

Brilliant

A gripping account from a true American hero. Had this in my book wish list but saw it on Audible and decided to get it. Once I started listening, I couldn't switch it off. Finished the whole audio in 2 days.
