this was truly such a beautiful read

I will be listening again and again. I am thankful for this book. so many lessons were taught in such an easily understandable way with metaphors and stories.

...you haven’t heard mr. kornfield narrate his book......you haven’t heard nothing. It’s all here in his gentle voice.
Do not hesitate or waffle, should I or not? YES, you must and then, you will have it all.

Jack Kornfield is a very good teacher

I’ve been meditating regularly for just under two years. It’s been an incredible journey, recently though I’ve found myself in a bit of a dark phase you might say for the last couple of months. I feel this book really guided me through that because of the overall tone and emphasis on welcoming anything and everything, a “free heart” as he would put it. Anyway, great book, touches on many topics all of which are practical and helpful. I’m looking forward to starting another book of his.

Great content, unsatisfying reading

This book is wonderful. Great content, thought-provoking, mindfulness provoking. But I don’t want to listen to Kornfield read ever again. His monotone intonation waivers between condescending and insincere. I know he is not an actor and this is not a book for entertainment, but good lord! It was an almost unbearable 9 hours.

Great things to be reminded of again and again. I found myself coming back to it frequently.

It really helps to understand what others experience in the practice. This book also inspires you and uplifts you with the wonderful people in it.
