Story
Decades ago, the High King of Sundolia waged a war that vanquished the Serpent clan and drove them out of the empire. But they did not leave peacefully. Their parting gift included curses that now rest within the empire's soil, growing more and more dormant as the years pass under the rule of that increasingly tyrannical high king. Until Alaya - a young woman with a hidden Serpent mark who shouldn't exist - accidentally wakes one of them up. Then another. She must seek the truth about her lost clan and the so-called curses they left behind. About her true home.

There are hundreds of faeries in her head, her brother seems to have lost touch with reality, and a werewolf won’t leave her side. Publisher's Summary
How far is too far when it comes to love?
In a matter of moments, everything Taly ever thought she knew came crashing down around her. Her mother's spells were broken, her powers unleashed. She's no longer mortal but fey, and every day serves as a reminder that her entire life has been a lie.
To make matters worse, Taly has been captured and imprisoned by a woman claiming to be the Time Queen. Her only way home is to play the queen's game and train in the art of time magic. The queen has commanded that she become an Acolyte - a task that could take years to complete.
Meanwhile, Skye is left as the last line of defense to protect Tempris from an invading horde of walking dead. He still doesn't have a name or a face to put to his enemy, and there are traitors inside the city. Everyone keeps saying that Taly is dead, but he can't accept it. He won't. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring her back - even if it costs him everything.
A renegade queen, forbidden magic, and a love that reaches across time and space - Taly and Skye will be tested, their loyalties pushed to the point of breaking, as war looms on the horizon.

Must read for SJM fans
Honestly I don’t understand how this book isn’t flying off the shelves and spreading like wildfire. This is honestly the best series to come out in years. I have struggled to find a story I’ve attached to as much as Throne of Glass or A Court of Thorns and Roses. But Tempris just ticks every single box for me honestly. Stephanie Fisher does not get enough credit in my opinion. You’ve got fae, you’ve got world building galore, magic, romance, it’s just amazing and I just can’t wait to see what happens in this series. Absolutely amazing. Can’t say enough good things. Just do yourself a favor and buy this book please.

Amazing
Let’s start off by saying wow this is amazing. Elizabeth evans always does an amazing job and has really evolved the more I’ve listened to her over the 10ish book I’ve listened to by her Stephanie fisher i once wrote you telling you how amazing book one was and that I couldn’t wait for book two. I wasn’t disappointed. Story amazing. Very original with some nice twists or mystery. I have some predictions but it to early two tale. The book had an amazing amount of character development and as a middle book i personally believe that is necessary it shows how the character progressed and why they did it and what motivates them. Reason for my 4star review instead of 5. While I loved the book there are a couple things that felt off. The romance was thick and while that’s okay I felt it over shadowed a lot of the rest of the story. I believe in one of Travis bag wells story’s he said with a paraphrase “I don’t know how ingot my wife I know nothing about romance. “ Stephanie fisher is a queen of romance and I was rooting for it the whole time. But a lot of the other characters got forgotten or overlooked due to it. Example at bottom Summary if you liked book one get book two it’s a little filler but it’s a lot more content or material then some people give you and you won’t feel rushed Letter to the author. You have an amazing world and so much potential. Take your time, explore it. I’d love to know more about the other worlds And the other races. Keep up the amazing work and I’ll be waiting for the next one. Spoiler kinda. Amy was hardly in the book and while I’m not sure I like her. I wanted to see more of her character development. I really hope it happens in book 3.

Training Arch!!!
I'm pleasantly surprised how this book turned out. I usually find romance books where the love interests are separated for the majority of the book to be more of an annoying drag than anything else. Constantly listening to or reading about the main characters pining for one another while all the other dram stuff is happening has never been all that entertaining for me. however while there is certainly a lot of pining and drama, there is also TRAINING!!! I can't tell you how many times i have read books where the heroine is supposed to be this major bad ass but all she does is stumble around like a headless chicken and get unbelievably lucky again and again. It's really irritating for me. In this book however, the heroine is being trained to understand her power and work with it, which makes me automatically for give all the pining nonsense. Speaking of things i now forgive, i really was not the biggest fan of Tallia's last book, and i still think most of her decisions were stupid and very poorly thought out especially for a person who was supposed to be smart. because of how this book ended i find myself more inclined to forgive than condemn now, especially sense she wasn't just let off the hook. Another thing that happens far to often in romance style books. The world is slowly coming together piece by piece, we don't get the full picture yet but the glimpses i see so far look interesting. I would also like to say with these types of time books it's really necessary to plot your books pretty far ahead and thus far Stephanie Fisher is doing a pretty good job, granted this is only the second book so take that with a grain of salt. I am looking forward to more from this author.
