Publisher's Summary

How far is too far when it comes to love?

In a matter of moments, everything Taly ever thought she knew came crashing down around her. Her mother's spells were broken, her powers unleashed. She's no longer mortal but fey, and every day serves as a reminder that her entire life has been a lie.

To make matters worse, Taly has been captured and imprisoned by a woman claiming to be the Time Queen. Her only way home is to play the queen's game and train in the art of time magic. The queen has commanded that she become an Acolyte - a task that could take years to complete.

Meanwhile, Skye is left as the last line of defense to protect Tempris from an invading horde of walking dead. He still doesn't have a name or a face to put to his enemy, and there are traitors inside the city. Everyone keeps saying that Taly is dead, but he can't accept it. He won't. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring her back - even if it costs him everything.

A renegade queen, forbidden magic, and a love that reaches across time and space - Taly and Skye will be tested, their loyalties pushed to the point of breaking, as war looms on the horizon.

Contains mature themes.

Must read for SJM fans

Honestly I don’t understand how this book isn’t flying off the shelves and spreading like wildfire. This is honestly the best series to come out in years. I have struggled to find a story I’ve attached to as much as Throne of Glass or A Court of Thorns and Roses. But Tempris just ticks every single box for me honestly. Stephanie Fisher does not get enough credit in my opinion. You’ve got fae, you’ve got world building galore, magic, romance, it’s just amazing and I just can’t wait to see what happens in this series. Absolutely amazing. Can’t say enough good things. Just do yourself a favor and buy this book please.

NEED BOOK 3!!!

Haven't found a book this good in awhile. The narrator is honestly one of the best. She does an amazing job. She truly makes these characters come to life. And all the characters are special in one way or another. If you love fantasy, romance, suspense, great character building and amazing world building. You have to listen to this series

Need Book 3!

This series is just what I needed after multiple listens of all SJM series — cannot wait for Book 3 and really hope same narrator is used. As another reviewer says, this book has it all — fae, magic, other worlds, and a steamy romance.

How long until book 3???

Normally I don’t listen to books with so few reviews. This series was supposed to be a time filler for me but it ended up being a book I couldn’t put down. Binged the two books in three days... now what? When is book 3 out???

Pretty amazing

The pros: Fisher does a great job of making you fall in love with her characters. There is something incredibly genuine about them that really ropes you in. So much so that I'm eagerly anticipating the next book. Also, the narrator is phenomenal. Absolute pleasure to listen to.

The cons: these aren't deal breakers because the book, and the series so far, is pretty amazing. I feel like she could have progressed the plot further in this one. An entire city was under siege so it kinda fell a little flat when nothing came of that by the the of the book. Also, the foreshadowing and the tidbits of information dished out very deliberately by some characters is kind of frustrating. A character has answers but says that the MC isn't ready yet, even though the audience already has much of this information and has had it for a while. I don't think you should give the readers so much more information than the MC. It makes the reader feel like they're just waiting for the MC to catch up and it can get frustrating. It's probably better to keep your audience and your MC on the same page. Also, you want to end on a high note. The last 10% of the book was kind of at a 'winding down' pace. I was surprised the action was all over just at the 90% mark.

Spellbinding

Fantastic story that left me wanting more. I am usually wary of stories that involve time magic or time travel but this was told beautifully and flawlessly. Elizabeth Evans never disappoints with her performances and I was mesmerized the whole way through.

Twist right at the end... Speechless...

I'm going to gush about this without spoiling it. The author plots a beautifully hidden twist at the end. I was transfixed throughout the entire book. The characters, even the ones you're not sure of, reveal an agenda and it ties at the end which will leave you wanting the next book ASAP. How is this author not on every best seller list?! if you are a fan of SMJ books, you need to listen to these books! and the narrator, ohh *swoon*

Not as good as the first

While I still enjoyed this book, it was not as gripping as the first one. There was a lot less action and a lot more info dumping which dragged sometimes. I am still looking forward to the next, however.
