Mirren Kincaid remembers the vampire he used to be - and he’s not going back. As the Slayer, Mirren served the Vampire Tribunal as its most creative and ruthless executioner. Then he refused a kill order and eventually found himself the protector and second-in-command of the peaceful enclave of Penton, Alabama. As civil war threatens to break out in the vampire world over the scarcity of untainted human blood, the Tribunal wants its slayer back - and has sent a beautiful witch to retrieve him.
Descended from a powerful shaman, Glory Cummings is meant to restore Mirren to his bloodthirsty ways as the Tribunal’s assassin. But Glory doesn’t see a killer when she looks at Mirren; she sees a vampire haunted by his past. Though her mission is to turn him into a monster, she hopes her magic touch can heal the man she’s suddenly falling for. But the Tribunal has never looked kindly upon defiance.

Continue the series
I found myself really rooting for Glory - she is an awesome original character. Hope she's given more to do in subsequent books.
Sex scenes are a bit short -- so if your expecting steamy romance, you won't really find it here. I will say that what there is is good, not awkward, and I expect this author will eventually find her way in that department.
Amy McFadden did a good job with voices. Enjoyed her reading very much.
Great Series!

Loved it just as much as I did the first one. Loved Mirren and Glory and it was nice visiting with Aiden, Krys, Will, Hannah, etc..I'm going to read Will's book now and I do hope the series continues.
The narration? Amy McFadden does have lots of emotion and great inflections in her voice but she doesn't do mens voices worth a damn. Sometimes I wasn't sure if it was a male or female talking. If she just lowered her voice she would get nothing but 5 star reviews. She does do Will's story so I will suffer through it so I can see what happens next.
Good book.. So-so narration..

Would you consider the audio edition of Absolution to be better than the print version?
If they would have secured Angela Dawe for the narrator for the rest of the series then I would say no. However, Amy McFadden just doesn't do it, and actually made this hard to listen too. What did you like best about this story?
I like the plot, it is well thought out. The build up of the characters over the entire series is good too.How could the performance have been better?
Meh, kinda robotic except when she was trying character voices. She probably should have listened to Angela Dawes performance in book 1 and tried to continue the personalities. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, not this one. Narrator made it hard to listen to for long stretches.Good story, bad narrator

Another great story carried on from the 1st book in this series. Unfortunately the Narrator, Amy McFadden, was not good. Susannah Sandlin should of used the Narrator in the fist book, Angela Dawe, she was excellent. . A great story line once again but ruined by the narrator. Please go back to Angela for the 3rd book.Absolution
