Bane: Never did I dream that a woman would cry on our wedding night.

Ten years have passed since humans and vampires allied to defeat the wolves. Now, to seal the covenant between our people and keep my throne, I must take a mortal bride. But I’ve gone further than any vampire has gone before—become a fiend, a monster even among my own kind.

When I first see her, I know I’ve doomed her. And though I crave the taste of her blood . . . I will fight the monster within to win her heart and soul.

Cirri: Never did I dream that a monstrous vampire would be the one to hear me.

Voiceless and ignored by the world, I was never considered good enough for anything beyond my indentured servitude. Chosen by chance as a pureblood bride for the Lord of the Rift, I’ve been sold in marriage to a vampire more hideous than I could’ve imagined.

But despite his savage appearance, he tries to hear my silent words. He alone learns to read the language of my hands. He might be a beast, but there is beauty in his soul. For the sake of my people, I will spend a lifetime shackled to this monster . . . But for the sake of his heart, I will make myself heard.

Contains mature themes.

I wish it wasn't over. I loved their story so much! The story was amazing and I've barely slept I've been so enthralled with the storyline. Narrators were phenomenal as well the voices were well matched plus even though the fmc is signing the whole time it's always made clear in the writing that she is signing or writing and the emotion is still in the narrators voice which I appreciate. I also love that the writer included that she always shows her thoughts on her face. I was raised by deaf parents and when you learn to speak with your hands you're not only learning to speak with your hands. It's your entire body. Facial expressions, and body language are more dramatic to make up for the fact that you can't show tone in your voice so you show it with your face/body. Even as a CODA I've had problems with people reading my facial expressions too easily.
Anyways... lol.
I really hope we get to hear the stories of the other characters finding their way.
Maybe even one of Anwyn (not sure on spelling the female vampire friend of Bane's) finding someone male or female whatever, and a possible lady dom situation. Not necessarily describing the spicy scenes dramatically but just how she interacts with people in general seems to be either someone who would need control in a relationship or since she has so much control in life needs someone to help take over when she's relaxing. So many fascinating characters in this book. Corvin always reels me in.
Definitely want to hear about the other fiends as well.
If I can't hear more about Cirri and Bane then I want more about the other fiends.

I wish it wasn't over!

Captivating Romance

This is my first Cate Corvin book and it won’t be my last. This had a bit of everything. Firstly, I loved how rational and level headed the FMC was- there wasn’t any insta love or rash decisions- she thought each outcome out and made some solid decisions given the circumstances. I loved how the relationship between the FMC and MMC developed over time as well. It’s very much “Beauty and the Beast but spicy”, but the world building is fantastic and I just want the next book to be out now. Both narrators did an excellent job as well, just listen- you won’t regret it.

Just wow.
