Noah Hansen is the 19-year-old son of the Chief of Police. He risks his life daily with a combination of drug use and dangerous sexual encounters. He is chaotic and impulsive, constantly placing himself in harm's way just to get an adrenaline rush. He has maps of trauma that he keeps hidden and secrets he has never shared. Instead of facing his issues, he buries them.

Delane Marsh is a kindhearted, college student. She's loyal to her friends but naïve to most of life's dangers. The majority of her days are spent working and studying, and obsesses over perfection. One night, she just so happens to arrive at the wrong place, wrong time. Her whole life as she knows it changes in a split second.

Silas Thorne is a well-known business magnate, set to inherit his uncle's wealth and corporations. He grew up in the spotlight of fame and money. He is skilled in manipulation tactics, underhanded business deals and—above all—is deeply infatuated with Noah. He is calculated, cold, and stops at nothing to get what he wants.

Unexpectedly, Noah finds himself face to face with the young and captivating Delane. He is forced to make a decision. Save her, a stranger, from her attackers—or don't get involved.

If one of the attackers hadn't been Silas Thorne, Noah’s childhood adversary, his choice might have been more simple. So he does it. He strikes a one time deal to save Delane—using his body as a gamble. He knows he will never see her again.

Little does Noah know, he won't be finished with the transaction any time soon. As he battles his traumas and addictions, he becomes ensnared in the lives of both Delane and Silas. Unsuspectingly, a too close to home predator from his past threatens to destroy him entirely.

And this time, he doesn't know if he will survive.

I cannot get over how well done the story itself is and how engrossing it was! But also the fact that Dani, Ivan and Lucas DID FREAKING AMAZING! This by far is going to be one I listen to again. The trio here did so well and really kept me invested in the story bringing more breath into an already well-done story. I do highly recommend checking the trigger warnings before diving into the book or audiobook as it's not lighthearted. Not at all. Dark, morally grey characters, a deep story that delves into things such as addiction, trauma, and all their deep flaws. I really loved getting into their story and the emotions the narrators really brought into it were amazing. You could really feel the emotion and dedication from the narrators for the characters. These are narrators who have not once ever failed in delivering!

Now the author. I'm definitely going to be re-reading this book! The audiobook is the first format that I have done for this book and its worthy of getting a real read also! I really need another book. I will also have to keep an eye on this author with how wonderfully well written I found the story to be. It's tragic, dark, deep, emotionally moving (yeah okay it's a roller coaster) and it is very easily a page turners.

Dark and perfectly done!

First of all.. READ YOUR TRIGGERS BEFORE GOING FORWARD

This story is not for the weak hearted and can be triggering but if you pass go after reading the triggers this story is so worth it! You’ll laugh, cry, get angry and wanna scream, have your heart break and feel loved. The roller coaster of emotions is played perfectly by each of the voice actors!

Ivan played the part of Noah perfectly. When things got tense you can hear the emotions in his voice perfectly

Dani plays not just Delane, but all females on point! She made each character have their own personality. The emotions throughout each character was know how they were feeling by the tone in her voice.

I couldn’t think of a more perfect person to play Silas than Lucas. Even the side characters that Lucas played, especially David, you can feel the dedication to each character and hear the feelings that the character was feeling.

Where to even start!?

The Addict by Charlie Noir absolutely wrecked me—in the best way possible.

This story took me through every single emotion: heart-pounding danger, deep love, raw hatred, and moments of unexpected laughter that caught me completely off guard. Just when I thought I knew where things were headed, the story twisted again and left me reeling.

The narration deserves its own standing ovation. Dani Staro, Ivan Moreo, and Lucus Troy didn’t just read this book—they brought it to life. Their performances made me laugh out loud, choke up, and sit in stunned silence more than once. The emotional delivery was so powerful that it felt like I wasn’t listening to a story—I was inside it.

I actually had to sit with this one for a while before writing a review because I finished it wrecked… and mad—mad because I desperately need the next book now. That’s how you know a story hit hard.

If you want an audiobook that grabs you, breaks your heart a little, puts it back together, and then leaves you craving more, The Addict is absolutely worth your time. I’m still thinking about it—and impatiently waiting for what comes next. 💔🔥📖

I've had this on my tbr for a while and when I saw it came to audio I was super excited!

the narration was top notch and I love the narrators. They did an amazing job bringing the book to life and giving it depth and emotion.

the story, well that was a little more rough. it felt a bit all over the place for the first half. hard to follow at times. and there was so much going on but not a lot at the same time. it did eventually start to come together towards the end though. I didn't feel much connection between the characters. it was worth the listen and I'll be reading the second part cause I have to know how it all ends. over all I do think it was worth the listen and there's potential for the second book to be really good.

A lot
