What’s the actual last thing you’d ever want your celebrity crush to see you doing when you finally come face-to-excruciatingly-handsome-face with him? At a mountain cabin I was sent to by the awfully pretty actress/pretty awful human I work for to get things ready for her romantic New Year’s Eve getaway with him. Is it terrible that a snowstorm prevents us from leaving and the actress from getting here? Neither Holden nor I think so. Because it turns out our connection goes back a lot further than those texts. And just like in all my favorite romantic comedies, it’s what got us here that is the most amazing part of the story.

Will my lack of experience cause me to freeze up when we go from inbox to in person? Or will a dreamy movie star melt my inhibitions and make all my secret New Year wishes come true?

Amazing audiobook!!

Honestly, one of the most delightful stories filled with just the right amount of longing, missed connections, & fate intervening. And steam! Narration was perfection & I didn’t want it to end.

Piper’s Book!

We’ve seen Piper throughout this series and she’s finally old enough to get her own book! I love how grown up Piper still has the lovable attitude and perspective on life that she has had since childhood. She deserves finding a HEA with a great butt who gets along with all the crazy men in her family and that’s exactly what she gets with Holden Archer;)

Fantastic happily ever after to one of the most romantic characters on the series. though De still owes her a car and a house.
The narrators do a great job bringing these characters to life, enhancing the listening and and experiences.

I love Piper's story!

We finally get Piper's story and it was everything I needed it to be! She has been such a wonderful character throughout the series. Her love story really couldn't have happened any other way. Great story, great humor, and excellent narration!

Cheeky and fun

Adored the narration. Fans of Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke will enjoy this romcom a lot. I sure did!

I liked the story, but I’ll be honest, the virgin trope is not a favorite of mine. And while I love the character of Piper, she did feel childish at times.

Still, the chemistry of Holden and Piper was really nice. I liked the “almost” instances they had. Kayley wrote those well and I loved the weaving in of the entertainment industry.

The story was easy to consume and I liked that. Team Piper forever!

Fun!

This was a lot of fun and the performances were top notch. So many characters performed by Connor Crais which were an absolute hoot. What a fun listen!

Amazing story

I absolutely loved this audiobook so much and already re-listened a few times. Erin Mallon’s performance as Piper was perfect, Jason Clarke as Holden totally swoon worthy and Connor Crais as the rest of the guys was amazing. All these narrators brought Piper’s story to life in all the best way.

Pure joy

Every time I listen to a Kayley Loring book I can't help but think that these stories must be fun for the narrators. Pure, unadulterated, unapologetic, romantic fun.

Piper is a hopeless romantic with a celebrity crush, writing fanfic and pursing a scriptwriting course. Holden is a movie star with a precocious little sister and a total aversion to rom-coms, What follows is a frothy and loving tribute to Nora Ephron movies; the meet-cute where the MMC is attracted to the FMC before they even know each other, the coincidences, the crossing of paths and of course, the correspondence. *happy sigh*

Interspersed between that are appearances from various family (& extended family), friends, self-obsessed movie stars with the obligatory SoCal vocal fry, as Piper and Holden find their way to their HEA. Oh, and the drunken texts and phone calls were *chef kiss* perfection. It was those that had me thinking the narrators had to have been grinning a few times doing that. Drunken singing for the win. Oh, and the narration by Erin Mallon, Jason Clarke & Connor Crais is a winning combination every time.

Kayley's books and characters always leave me feeling happy, and it's clear that she takes delight in her stories too. The way all the characters cross over into their own books and popping up as support characters is totally understandable. If I was having as much fun in their world as Kayley is, I wouldn't want to leave either.

Great comedic HEA! Love the story of Piper all grown up. Hope the are more coming.

Late to the (NYE) party but LOVED!

Well, I had no idea this was apparently culmination of a series, so I was pretty confused at the beginning and a little bit throughout, but now I have to read all of the other books to appreciate it all more (oh darn, lol). I was obsessed with the talk of “kissing books” and fan fiction and secret journals and rom com love because Piper felt so much like me in that sense. She had big Jessica Day vibes, and I was so into her optimism and unashamed commitment to her sense of self. Erin Mallon played her perfectly. Combine that with Jason Clarke’s voice and Connor Crais playing a million different characters with wild accents, and I am just in love. I think this might be my first book by Kayley Loring, and it certainly will be my first of MANY! Just… chef’s kiss. Thank you to all who played a role in this masterpiece!
