Publisher's Summary

"If you love a good enemies-to-lovers trope, run - don't walk - to the nearest bookstore or library near you." (Buzzfeed)

"A Love Hate Thing is an irresistible romance that you'll gobble up whole." (Popsugar)

When they're stuck under one roof, the house may not be big enough for their hate...or their love.

Despite having been shot, Tyson Trice has survived the mean streets of Lindenwood, so nothing can faze him - not even being tossed into the affluent coastal community of Pacific Hills.

Nandy Smith, the golden girl of Pacific Hills, is not pleased when she hears her parents are taking in a troubled teen boy. Nandy suddenly fears her summer plans, as well as her reputation, will go up in flames.

The wall between Trice and Nandy's bedrooms feels as thin as the line between love and hate. Through time, Trice brings Nandy out of her shell, and Nandy attempts to melt the ice that's taken over Trice's heart. Only, with the ever-present pull back to the Lindenwood streets, it'll be a wonder if Trice makes it through this summer at all.

"Emotional, gripping love story! I couldn't put it down!" (New York Times best-selling author Simone Elkeles)

Such an Exploration of Paradoxes

I think that capturing the essence of being a teenager in this world is very hard... this comes from a teenager herself. Grandison does such an amazing job of creating a beautifully crafted exploration of two worlds separating, then colliding again. The side characters were also just as interesting as the main ones, which is novel gold. This is my second time reading the book, and it’s arguably better than the first.

Love too strong for 17

The story was okay with a nice ending it kind of dragged for me on some parts, like get to it already. The main thing that got to me was the age of the characters, the emotions they were feeling were too adult. Like anyone older than 20 knows 90% of the time your 1st love won’t be your last, so it just seemed fake in that aspect. Like you guys are STILL in high school and any emotions you feel at 17 are childish. If they were college students and not high school students it would have made me want to feed into the love story more.

I tried to like it but couldn’t

I’m sorry, I tried to like it but I couldn’t. I couldn’t even finish it. It was too unrealistic for me. The time line didn’t work for me The main characters met when they were five, spent two maybe three summers together, then had no communication for 10 years, but still had these intense feelings. I think if the ages were different it would have been more believable.

high school romance and writing

This book is great if you're in high school and all about romance. I couldn't get through it. The characters are so unrealistic! By the fourth "omg does he love me?" I was done! I tried, and I'm sorry.

Couldn’t put it down

I love this story. The breakdown of each chapter where you get to hear Nandy and Trice point of view was beautifully done. I really appreciated how Whitney Grandison described the characters, their feelings and their internal conflicts I was able to put myself completely In the story. A bonus was the music playlist at the end. I loved that!!! The only thing I didn’t care for was all the cussing. But it is truly a beautiful story.

Good listen

The reader for the male lead was very strong, and soothing- easy to listen to.
struggled hearing the reader for the female lead. Her voice was to pitchy.
