In the early days of their collaboration, Dr Watson assessed Sherlock Holmes’s knowledge of chemistry as profound. It is thus hardly surprising that German chemist and future noble prize winner, Fritz Haber, should approach the Great Baker Street detective, for help on a new and transformative industrial process that he is trying to make viable. But, as the first World War breaks out, was there more to the process than met the eye? And, if Watson assessed Holmes’s knowledge of chemistry as profound, what about his assessment of Holmes’s understanding of politics as feeble? It is as well that Mycroft Holmes, acting in his role as the British Government’s Chief Advisor, can step in to turn matters to Great Britain’s best advantage.

Enjoyable story

A good sherlock Holmes story with a lot of scientific language that I, being trained as a scientist, enjoyed very much. The narration is outstanding.

Sherlockian stories

A Benefactor of the Race by Orlando Pearson is an excellent Sherlock Holmes crime mystery. Kevin E. Green did an amazing job with the narration. The story is thrilling, interesting, entertaining, engaging and more. A Benefactor of the Race is the second story in The Discoveries of Sherlock Holmes series. Each story is written by a different Sherlockian from all over the world. Each story is unique to the person. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another Victim

An interesting short story based on the the life and tribulations of the Haber process and its inventor; from try to feed the poor to being involved on a chain reaction of war crimes that his country committed.

History and Sherlock

Interesting insert of Sherlock Holmes into the history of chemistry related to World War One.

Not a Favorite of Mine

Orlando Pearson's entry in the Sherlock Holmes pastiche series is a ponderous affair. In this short work, his story meanders over decades, settings and characters. It was just too much material for such a short work. It is a shame because the concept was interesting although improbable.
