The Long Trail

McCabes Series, Book 1

By: Brad Dennison

Narrated by: J. Rodney Turner

First in the best-selling series the McCabes.

The story of a family building a ranch in the rugged wilderness of post-Civil War Montana, and of a young man seeking his family and his destiny. If you liked the movie Open Range or the TV shows Big Valley and Lancer, or the novels of Louis L'Amour and Ralph Compton, then this might be for you.

WESTERNS

Great story. Really enjoyed the the narrator. Looking forward to continuing the series. Thanks to a great adventure!

An enjoyable old west tale

Enjoyable read thru the times of the old west. A nice flowing storyline. Perfect characters. Read masterfully.

Distinct Vocal Characters

My first 19th century western. The descriptions were vivid and colorful. The plot was interesting and kept my attention. Some of the concepts seemed more 21st century and a little unbelievable. The reading was very well done with good distinctions most the time between characters. The whispery quality of the reader’s voice was sometimes annoying because I couldn’t get the volume high enough to be heard while doing household chores.

family values

good story kept in Insteaded all the way thru the story I'll the end lots of action.
