Publisher's summary

Seeking to cure his rare blood disorder, Dr. Michael Morbius instead cursed himself with an insatiable lust for human blood. While trying to cure his horrific condition, he has become allied with Amanda Saint, whose sister, Catherine, is one of the leaders of the Demon-Fire Cult. Also known as Poison Lark, Catherine Saint has two goals above all else: to bring Satan to Earth, thus unleashing the powers of Hell, and to kill Morbius and Amanda.

Morbius and Amanda follow the cult's trail to New York City, determined to stop Poison-Lark at any cost. But when they run afoul of an underground fight club that uses monsters as their pawns in the arena, Morbius becomes the star attraction, forced to kill or be killed....

Narration killed it for me.

I was so excited to read this book because this is a character I really love and hes kind of obscure. I really do wish the book was more about Morbias and less and what's about everything else. The thing that really killed it for me though literally was how the narrator did his voice. He sounded like a 70 year old man with no teeth. He sounded like just absolutely not what you'd think he would sound like. It almost sounds like a joke voice. I wish more than anything that Neil Gaiman had done this voice because then this might have been epic but alas no. I pray that the movie is better than this and that Jarred Letto nails it. I could only get through a couple chapters of this and it sucks because I actually bought this book. It was that voice that just ...I couldn't listen to it anymore. Morbius would not sound like that sorry. I hope I get a refund. I'll spend it on a movie ticket.

Great Story

Narration spot on. I have been enjoying these Marvel audiobooks. Can't wait to listen to the next one.

Awesome Read!!

I am so happy that Morbius got an audiobook, it played very well and gave the characters a further life beyond the comics and TV shows.

Amazing Book!

This was a great listen from start to finish. I believe that this performance sets the bar high for the movie. Hopefully there are more stories for Morbius as well as other less known Marvel characters.

A wonderus ride down to Hell then up to the light.

All of Morbius' struggles begin with the good heart of one trying to help not only himself, but a friend and his patients suffering in pain that others have given up on.
Following this adventure through the good, bad and ugly was thrilling for me. I hope there will be more books and movies to follow.

Worth A Try

Absolutely loved it! Fun story, though a little cheesy at times. This is a novel based on comic book characters so that's forgivable. Well written. The A and B plots come together for a satisfying finale. Narration was serviceable and overall does not harm or hinder the enjoyment of the story.

Great book

This was very well written, and enjoyable to listen to. It is very gory but if you’re able to get past that you’ll likely appreciate the character development. I haven’t listened or read a marvel comic or book before, but this was a fantastic read. Both the author and speaker helped to bring the story to life.

I Don't get it

Look, I REALLY wanted to like this book. I LOVE Marvel comics, but this book... YUCK!
(1) IT'S NOT AN ORIGIN STORY - and it should have been (since it's the first audiobook ). I didn't know about Morbius and flet like I had walked into a movie half way through. (2) A "Demon Fire Cult" MIGHT have made sense in 1942...but come on. The red hooded robes, everyone carries a long knife, they live underground in an abandoned church UNDER the subways....Ugh! (3) THE ENDING was ridiculous. [A] Why did that last monster blood kill Morbius, none of the others did? Why would Morbious hold onto that ring? [B] why was the ring magical? [C] Why did the ring turn to dust after bringing Morbius back to life?!?? I just hope the movie that comes out on 2022 will be better.
