I decided I'd sneak into the party, and scoop the story. I would not get caught, definitely not seduced, and absolutely wouldn't die.

That is until I was stopped and rendered totally speechless by a pair of mossy eyes, and a jawline so divine that I nearly melted into goo right in some stranger's room. He lured me in, close enough to feel the press of his mouth against my skin and the heat of his hands on my body. Undoubtedly, I was a sheep headed straight for the slaughter, which only proved true when he called my bluff.

With him holding all the cards for my future success, and to salvage what remained of my dream, I did the only thing I could.

I made a deal with a devil.

This audio really brings the story to life!

I love this story so of course I had to listen to the Audiobook! And boy did it blow me away! The actors really brought the characters to life and I loved getting to know this couple again!!!

Too many variables

There were so many variables and different themes thrown in throughout the book, especially the second half. Also the female lead was strong except for actually making the male lead communicate with her. From corrupt Dad, evil best friend, mafia, drag racing, poor/rich, death, depressed mom, career ending events, odd sex ring thing, mean step-mom, slutty/shady to not shady step sister. Just too much!

It was ok.

I thought it was ok. Everybody liked different types of romance. Personally this one wasn't for me. The characters were a little much and it was hard for me to stay interested in.

This story pulled me in from the very beginning — and didn’t let go.

I loved Mallory. She’s confident in who she is, but still deeply vulnerable in ways that made her so relatable. She’s bold, unapologetically tough, and doesn’t back down from what she wants. Decker, on the other hand, is fueled by revenge — willing to sacrifice almost anything to take down the person who stole his dream. But as his story slowly unravels piece by piece, you can’t help but fall harder for him with every reveal.

The slow burn between Mallory and Decker was everything. He tries so hard to resist her, knowing she holds the key to the very revenge he’s chasing, while she challenges every part of his resolve.

The supporting cast added so much personality, and now I’m so ready for the next book, King of Hearts.

🎙️ Elizabeth Hart and Nelson Hobbs delivered such a strong, emotional performance. They captured both the vulnerability and the heat of the story perfectly.
