The Wrong Book

This was an audible book for me and the narrators did a very good job. I usually enjoy this author‘s books but this one I did not at all. Gemma was so annoying that I wanted Zach to dump her and move on. The things she said and did we’re not OK. Zach did all the work and all the fighting while Gemma just sat back and whined About everything. I had hoped that her character would grow be on the predictable but she never fought for anything except for the one time she showed up at his house at the very end. Zach proved himself over and over and that got to be ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and skip this book.

Cute story

This was a cute listen. Not quite as captivating as some authors I have read, but the storyline was cute and kept me engaged for this one!

Sorry, but I have to say it...

First, let me start by saying that this is a decent book. It is not a favorite from the author, but still a decent listen.

Now, to my main complaint....

The Green Bay Packers lost both games to the Chicago Bears!!! My best guess is that this story takes place in 2012 or so, given the reference to the dating app and the movie Silver Linings Playbook. So, with that said, the Packers have not lost both games to the Chicago Bears since I think 2005 and 2007. I'm sorry, but this Wisconsin girl could not let that little detail slide by. 🤣🤣

Loved it!

I thought the story was very original and it really kept me attention throughout. Another great read/listen by this author.

Fantasic narration

I really enjoyed this book.
Coming off of a cheating (and now deceased) husband, Gemma has sworn not to give her heart to anyone ever again. But that doesn't mean she can't play the field. So with a grand plan of only giving a guy one night she sets herself up on a dating app. But even the best laid plans can run into a snag...enter Zach Bowen. At first Zach seems like a great choice for a practice date but he's not willing to let Gemma go after only one date. And he is determined to make sure that he gets all of her one night stands.

I really enjoyed The Wrong Game and Gemma and Zach. Both of them are very interesting people and you can see how their pasts have shaped them. I understood why Gemma felt how she often did and I loved hoe much Zach showed he isn't her ex. Zach is such a cute hopeless romantic and I loved that about him so much. He is a bartender and used to play football himself, but he is a huge teddy bear. I really enjoyed this one!

I need more!

This book was amazing!! I binged it and couldn’t get enough. Definitely reading more of Kandi Steiners books!

Touchdown!

I loved this angsty yet steamy storyline. Add in football and I’m hooked. Zach and Gemma have chemistry galore! As well as baggage from the past. This one has all the FEELS and great narration. Absolutely worth the listen!

Meh

These characters were completely relatable. He's an average guy and she's an average girl. No billionaires or heiresses. Gemma was a widow to a cheating bastard and Zach is a bartender who sacrificed his future for his family and lost his love.
I wanted more from her and more from him. I wanted her to let her ex mother in law know about her son and I also wonder if the girl was lied to too. Was she crying at the funeral for her lost love or that she too gave her heart to a cheating bastard. I feel like this book is unfinished. The other woman needs her own story.

Hands down top 5 favorite

I loved everything about this book. It was so raw. So real. It was absolutely hands down just an overall amazing book.
