I wanted to savor this book and ended up listening to the whole thing in two days! If you enjoyed Behind Her Eyes and Insomnia you’ll love this one! It’s a clever spin on the classic haunted house story with all the best elements of a domestic thriller and just enough supernatural twists to add an eerie sense of mystery. Loved the strong characterization and gothic atmosphere (the nods to Edgar Allen Poe were especially fun!)

Fabulous!!!! One of my favorite books ever read!

I was glued to this book not knowing really anything about it! It was such a good story so original nothing like I’ve ever read before! It kept me on my toes and I couldn’t stop listening to this book. The narrators were wonderful as well hands down One of the best books I have ever read! Very clever story.

Such a good listen

Dark and clever, I loved this. Top tier, in both story and performance. Replaced behind her eyes as my favorite of hers.

Excellent listen

This domestic thriller has characters and storylines that draw you in within the first chapter. It keeps you thinking and trying to figure out what is going on. What is going on? Get the audiobook to find out!

Great narration, All the narrators played their parts with feeling and in natural cadence. The narration can either make or break a book for me, so I try to include this information in my reviews.

So good

Loved the twists in this book. I couldn’t stop listening! The ending was so surprising and unexpected. I definitely recommend.

Shocking reveal

This book set its teeth in and wouldn't let me loose until the very end. The questions burned through the story, leading up to a huge payoff. Narrators top notch. Sarah Pinborough is an auto-buy.

Truly “Unputdownable”

This is an incredible book. The characters are well developed, the story is original and gripping. The narration was very good and I enjoyed the way the book was structured.
It’s scary, you can’t ever predict where things are going, and I love that there’s no “villain” necessarily.
It takes quite a writer to bring together so many elements, create such a frightening atmosphere but with no “good guy, bad guy” posturing.
The ravens were a very nice touch as well.
I loved this book and will probably listen to it again.
I devoured it in a day and a half.
Highly recommended.

Lacking Substance; Drags On

Story could have been condensed to a few hours, and really just dragged. The narrator’s performance was good.
