Evidence-Based and Artfully-Delivered
In the decade since this book was written, trauma-focused has been running neck and neck with the term Alexa-enabled for ubiquity. Paradoxical counterproductivity sometimes drives good ideas off a cliff, and so we now have dishwashers that talk to our phones and a growing cadre of poorly informed professionals touting trauma-informed everything (true example: a professional recently cautioned at a meeting that all parents and teachers needed to avoid redirecting a child because "being told no is a trigger for him"). THIS BOOK, however, presents flawless, empirical professionalism. This book should be (annually) required reading for school guidance professionals, child welfare professionals, and youth mental health professionals. Note: the narrator is exceptional...even tables are read in an engaging manner.
