The Premise Is What Spoke To Me

Mind you, this is my introduction into not only dark romance but also Audible books. The female voice was on point but the male voice lacked. Idk who decided that all men need to have a deep deep voice for these things but it's just not true. I couldn't feel the emotions in his voice and it often sounded very robotic. I did enjoy the story though for the most part. It appealed to me because I too have lived a life full of trauma and abuse. I guess it's a universal idea (esp for those of us with daddy issues) to have a big dangerous man to swoop in and take care of us in ALL the ways is tintillating. Esp when the woman becomes that mans weakness... Are they all a little cheesy though? haha Despite the cheesiness and the male voice, I do find myself curious about the sequel!

Too short, but a good listen. Honestly wish there was more spice, but it’s worth the time to read.

I was expecting more

Not a bad listen at all. But I was personally expecting more out of it. Very predictable ending.

LOVED IT

I will say that the first part of the book was hard for me because domestic violence is a trigger that is hard to read about since it is a very common thing woman and men go through so during those scenes it was hard for me. Now I do love how our FMC was able to over come that DV relationship in the book and no longer be controlled by her abuser. I loved how our FMC was able to regain control of her life and along the way find out more about herself and the woman she knows she is! I think that I loved our FMC more in this than I did the MMC.

This book kept me on edge and my attention from start to finish. Read the trigger warnings!
