A Sabbat Worlds novel.

When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle.

Listen to it because....

It's a vision of total war in the 41st millennium, from the smallest soldier to the largest God-Machine.

The story:

When the vital forge world of Orestes comes under attack by a legion of Chaos Titans, the planet is forced to appeal for help. The Titans of Legio Invicta, although fresh from combat and in desperate need of refit and repair, respond, committing their own force of war engines to the battle. As the god-machines stride to war, the world trembles, for the devastation they unleash could destroy the very world they have pledged to save.

Lo que los oyentes dicen sobre Titanicus

Con calificación alta para:

The Story In This Audiobook Is Praised For Its Compelling And Intricately Woven Storylines, Masterful World-building Of The Warhammer 40k Universe, And Immersive Storytelling That Brings The Characters And Their Experiences To Life. However, Some Criticize The Rushed Ending, Excessive Plot Threads That Feel Underdeveloped Or Abruptly Concluded, Lack Of Background On The Antagonists, And An Unsatisfying Resolution To The Central Conflict. Overall, The Narrative Explores Themes Of Mechanicus Culture, Titan Warfare, Intertwining Perspectives, Political Intrigue, And Human Experiences Amidst The Grimdark Futuristic Setting.

Engines! But too many distractions

To avoid spoilers, this story has a few too mamy branches that are unrelated to the overall story. One in particular that, if removed, would make me revise my review to a 5/5 stars.

Undeniably a 40k Classic

This book is Abnett and 40k at ita finest. i had read a physical copy at least twice before, and I'm glad I did a listen through now. Titan on Titan action and some great character drama.

Best Mech book out there, however the end just is a bit nonsensical, doesn't ruin the book but was just amateur feeling.

Amazing start but drags a bit in the middle. Some of the intense battle events I kinda felt were the worst parts. It was a bit cluttered feeling or would go on to long. I found the incremental scenes where there would be scenes instead that come and go, zoomed in a bit better on characters which helped me care about them.

Also feels like I missed a book going into this as a lot of references but no clear solid build up of the enemy happens that really needed to. At least some more history instead of brief snippets here and there. Without that it felt like an enemy for the sake of being an enemy to create drama, it's fun but gets a bit old when there just aren't really a lot of attempts to expand on details for the enemy.

Like the enemy genuinely feels generic and unique at the same time. Generic in that you could likely plug in anything as an enemy with similar scenes and not much would change because so little work expands on the enemy, unique in their descriptors and way of fighting.

Notice I also keep referring to the enemy as enemy instead of something more specific. Again it just doesn't resonate as being called anything else, i could refer to the giant mechs used but again like... Who though and why should I care?

Great writing regardless even if that one bit was annoying. I was able to overlook it and still really really enjoy myself and the very visual events. I never really struggled seeing what was going on and loved to descriptors and occasional poetic feeling writing with how passionate it all feels.

The main characters I also loved how they were introduced and the time spent giving them personalities and put in unique situations making them recognizable.

The end 30% felt a bit out of place too. There were hints of a build up but nowhere near enough to really make sense of some of the escalation. The escalation also seemingly came and went a little too easily too. Some of the drama felt soooo plugged in too. Like a sudden reveal that I guess was supposed to have more impact just.... Didn't. It's like ok? That's weird to just say out loud and immediately a resolution happens within seconds.

Very much one of the best mechanicus books out there that I've experienced so far. There are some bad writing moments towards the end that are stupid but suspending disbelief, I was able to work past it.

Amazing & wonderful.

Dan Abnett net did an amazing job with this book. he makes the mechanicus seem relatable and humanizes them in a way that I did not expect, and no one has ever done engine war as a beautifully or perfectly as was done in this book. Thank you Dan Abnett. Praise be to the Omnissiah.

One of my favorites

One of my favorites by Dan Abnett. And as always Toby Longsworth brings the book to life with his narration.

Enrapturing

Thrilling and intense with a attention grabbing and question provoking story. The story keeps the listener attentive with events that ask you to ponder while keeping a grounded set of parameters and engages you with a more human perspective on titan warfare

The perfect mix of power fantasy, political intrigue, and the common soldier

This easily gets a place on my shelf of top 40k books. The intrigue was strong, the plight of the basic troops was compelling, and the titans were awesome!
