Great Primer for new story...

I started playing WH40K when "Beakies" were all you could find. I knew Space Marines were the good guys the Eldar were d#@kheads and the Orks killed everything. Now in my 40s my son has started his role as chapter master and these new stories give a great layer of fun and mythology to the game.

A great collection!

Absolutely loved this. Great story telling and voice acting. Really added to the lore and wonder of 40k

Good, mostly

Futuristic galactic story with tech, magic, & different religions or groups fighting for power. Faster paced, complex & interesting, but it's kinda of hard to keep track of all the characters. Performance; somewhat good, with many different voices, but / example; multiple characters have rough or raspy voices & he can't make them different enough, to tell who is talking easily, if they are all in the same scene.

Glorious Start to 40k

I have been inspired to learn more about the grim dark world of warhammer 40k.

Good performances, overstays welcome

The narrator's all did a stellar job but, after 'Cusade', it really started to grind. Where it not for the sake of seeing "completed" on the icon, I would I have stopped listening awhile ago. 'The Lightening Tower' was good, providing a quick glimpse into the mind of Rogal Dorn before the Siege of Terra. All of the others were largely just bland.

Very good group of stories put together from various authors. Worth the read or listen for anyone that is a fan of 40k.

a chore to make it through

this is a collection of a lot of the short audio plays gw puts out. Some of the stories are ok, most are garbage. I'm glad they made this a collection instead of putting them out individuality, but still this book was rough to make it through. i really wish gw would do more quality control on their authors.

50% trash

There are some good stories in here. Problem comes when you don't know the lore. If this is your first 40k book, I fear, you'll be lost. Read Xenos by Dan Abnett first then work your way forward from there.

Highly recommend!

A very good collection of stories and a good introduction to many of the factions and races in the Warhammer 40K universe.

the main story was all right not spectacular not bad enjoyable though can't place my finger on it but didn't love it with the same type of exuberance I normally feel for Warhammer books but the short stories included oh good lord best $8 I've ever spent.
