Kinda dead. Straight-up psycho. Totally obsessed with her.

I did a bad, bad thing.

Thanks to a blank in my memory, I'm not sure what that thing was, but it was horrible enough to get me locked up in the mental ward for seven years. Horrible enough that my little sister won't even speak to me.

But when I'm released back into a town determined to rub my unknown sins in my face, the past isn't the only thing that's haunting me. The four "imaginary" friends who made my childhood bearable barge into my life in a very real way.

They're crude, criminally inclined, and more than a little unstable after ages trapped in afterlife limbo. All they want is to protect me. Worship me. Avenge me.

So they'll bludgeon, maim, eviscerate—tear a strip of havoc right through this sleepy town.

Even rise from the dead.

Maybe I'm still not all that sane either, because part of me finds them strangely appealing. In ways very different from how I felt as a kid. And that's not the only strangeness stirring inside me...

I promised myself I'd stick to the straight and narrow from here on. But what if the only way to set things right is to get a little ghoulish?

While the narration and most of the sound effects made the story come alive, one thing that irritated me most was the music choices for some of the scenes. When the scene is supposed to be a passionate moment between an unhinged and obsessive ghost and a girl coming apart at the mental seams, smooth jazz isn't exactly the best option for background music. Just saying.

Great but could have been better.

This story is quickly reminding me of a different series I listened to: Demon Days, Vampire Nights World. The magical prospects into an unknown entity of the world are what draws me into the story. There’s a small amount of smut, nothing super explicit during the acts but definitely not meant for younger ears.

Loving this story

I love listening to graphic audios because it gives the book a little more ✨pizzazz✨there were parts where the background noise was definitely louder than the narration but overall it was really good. Though they did condense all the chapters into 6 chapters so it was hard to tell where you were at in the book. The narration was really good but I’m not really a fan of Jets narrator, the voice just didn’t match the description like the rest of the guys. For the characters themselves the MMCs were a little clueless on their bodies they took over and it was a little frustrating because if they would have just followed them for a few days before jumping into their bodies so much could’ve been avoided and they could have been more adjusted to their lives. Lily, for once it was nice that she didn’t want violence after her because it would ultimately backfire on her so it made since for her not to want violence and in the end she did start warming up to but at least what she did didn’t cause too much damage or cause blood. Overall the book is pretty good and definitely recommend the Graphic Audio version!
