Amazing!

I've been waiting on pins and needles for this book. I read the whole series up until this point just prepping again. It was exactly what I had expected, absolute perfection! It was wonderful to read and left me still wanting at the end. Without spoiling the book for other readers I would just tell them there was a lot of laughter and plenty of tears! I love each and every character in the series, the only thing was that I would like to have seen more of the King in the book.
This morning when I got up I saw that there was another book from JR Ward coming out December 1, 2015. It was in reference to the Black Dagger Brotherhood Legacy; Blood Kiss. I cannot wait to read that.

JR Ward is an amazing author.

Well read by the narrator. I thoroughly enjoyed and absolutely recommend to all adult readers

Overall good book

Loved the story, made me want to finish the series. only complaint is the narrator started pronouncing names differently all of the sudden in this book! WEIRD!

Absolutely YES!!!! - The BDB is a Outstanding Series which is "Written & Narrated" beyond Fantastic!!!! It is a type of Series that Grabs you from Start to Finish and doesn't let go!!!!You just cannot get enough of and "always" hate the end of the book because the "wait" for the next book is AGONIZING!!!!The BDB Series is a DRUG and I'm soooooo Hooked!!!!!

What other book might you compare The Shadows to and why?

Not sure there's anything to compare The Shadows with, nor the BDB Series as a whole - Sorry but JR & Jim are a monopoly!!!! With that said......D.B. Reynolds, Vampires in America is "fairly" comparable, in that its a really good Vamp Series too!!!

Which character – as performed by Jim Frangione – was your favorite?

Pleaseeeeee - Jim does a FANTASTIC job on ALL Characters - Super impressed with his ability to do both, men & woman's voices, and make them believable!!!! As a matter of fact, I'm not sure the BDB Series would be the BDB Series without Jim!!!!!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

What would the Tag Line be.....hum....not sure - maybe....The Vampires SOA???

How do you improve on something that's already PERFECT???? By Not Fixing what's Not Broken!!!! Just keep doing what you do best JR Ward & Jim - and don't change a thing!!!

Late in the Game...

I haven't read this series in several years and this is the first book that I've done on audio. I was SUPER confused by the names and after my read, I checked out the reviews. I'm glad I thought the pronunciation was a big topic here on the reviews. It took me a while to realize what character name was what. I'm actually not a fan of this narrator for this context. His voice is very proper but when he tries to speak the slang it feels pretty unnatural and for me, cringe-worthy. He also inclines his voice for the females. I don't know. Just didn't vibe with me. But I loved the book overall and I'll be listening to the next in the series!

After reading/listening through the last 13 books of this series; very disappointing to hear the names being misspoken for Xcor, Xhex and then the male doctor Havers.

This book will make you cry. Full of many plots. Loved it. Unexpected ending. Awesome

The Brotherhood has it all.

J R Ward's characters make me laugh, make me hot, make me want the stories to never end. I wish the brothers and their shellans were my friends.

And queue the tissues…

Though this story ends with a happily ever after, it is not the one I was expecting. The main storyline is sweet and tragic and the side stories equally captivating. Many times life is unfair and unfortunate and this story reflects this. Good story, but the tears were flowing. The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.
