Overall: I'm satisfied.

Well, as someone who is quite interested in personal development there wasn't something entirely new to me in this book, but still it was 4 hours well spend for me.
The information was legit, well-structured and told.
Narration was decent and I didn't felt lost anywhere.
It was good for me to refresh and reinforce my knowledge and I believe it would be a good book for people who haven't read much or made research on personal development before.

A great tutorial on learning

This is my second book by Peter Hollins. The first was Build a Better Brain. The Science of Rapid Skill Acquisition is similar in that it combines the research of the "why" with the instructions to complete the "how". The
Science of Rapid Skill Acquisition is much more aggressive in what you should and should not do where as the Build a Better Brain was more academic. I strongly believe that the skills and methods the author writes about should be taught in the middle school level, if not earlier. How to learn is much more important than what too learn.
Russell Newton is a fantastic narrator. His voice and diction are well suited for this type of material.

Probably would wait for the 99cent sale

Wish the author intertwined more personal stories. Felt myself picking out some good ideas (like the ideas you must have realistic expectations when learning) but also felt myself shutting off the book and getting lost or irritated. Just an opinion.

So helpful

I like how informative this was and can’t wait to try some of these skills myself. I will most likely listen to this again and again and will recommend it to everyone.

Very good advice for anyone who's trying to learn

I'm currently trying to learn animation, but there's a lot of basic life habits that I need to change if I wanna learn efficiently and be any good. And this book really gave me some of the examples of what it takes to really learn and become better.

Read it 2x

This book has many great insights that may be dated but really effective. I like that not everyone will take this book seriously, I will.

Opened a new avenue on acquiring and also improving a skill.

This is simply amazing. I was never aware of the many techniques that can be utilized in learning new skills. I will listen to this two or three times per year.

should be read by everyone

I absolutely loved it. It's more concise, easy to understand, and honest than Barbara Oakley's a mind for numbers; they do share many of the same concepts. Hollins definitely mentioned a broader spectrum of learning tools in half the time.

Full of information not anecdotes

I‘m exhausted by 300 page books full of bedtime story material, which, removed, would leave at best 50 meaningful pages. On the contrary, this book focuses on actionable items, which can be immediately applied.
