"You'll fall deeply in love with this enchanting and cozy book, so much so that you’ll want to return to it every fall just to experience it again!"—New York Times bestselling author Breanne Randall

An enchantingly warm and funny novel about family, love lost and found, discovering who you are, and how difficult it is to slay a vampire from the beloved national bestselling author of the TikTok sensation In the Company of Witches.

Cassie Beckett’s life is anything but magical. With a wild younger sister, three unruly kids, and an absent husband, she’s really not looking forward to the witching month of October. At least the gorgeous, foggy Prince Edward Island is always quiet.

That is, until the vampires arrive.

As the creatures sink their teeth into Cassie’s tenuous grip on normalcy, she’s forced to come face-to-face with long–disregarded family secrets. The legacy gifts her with power, but also a lofty responsibility: rid the island of vampires, or let them win. (Both options suck, in more ways than one.)

Armed with her family, newfound friends, and a baby in a spectacularly garlicky onesie, Cassie must learn what it is to be a witch and how to fight for what she loves before time runs out. Because on Halloween night, the stakes will be higher than ever before...and it’s up to Cassie to finish what the witches that came generations before her started.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Magical mayhem, heart, and humor, Auralee Wallace’s The Late-Night Witches is filled to the brim with authentic family dynamics, self-discovery, and an unforgettable Halloween showdown. You'll fall deeply in love with this enchanting and cozy book, so much so that you’ll want to return to it every fall just to experience it again!"—Breanne Randall, New York Times bestselling author of The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic

“A spellbinding adventure of real heart and humour. The Late-Night Witches is packed with fun nostalgia, a picturesque autumn setting, and loveable characters that I was rooting for from the very first Jack O’Lantern. I loved spending Halloween with the Beckett witches!”—Lucy Jane Wood, author of Rewitched

"Wallace (In the Company of Witches) infuses humor, magic, and surprise into this well-crafted suburban fantasy...Wallace’s wonderfully realized characters overcome the exasperation of child-rearing, embrace the bonds of family and friendship, and chuckle through their madcap adventures. Readers are sure to be entertained."—Publishers Weekly

“This fantasy novel has its scares but is ultimately very cozy—the kind of fun, exciting fantasy that warms readers' hearts.”—Booklist

“Wallace’s wild romp of a Halloween broom ride combines painful family legacies and found sisterhoods with the lost legacies of Hazel Beck’s ‘Witchlore’ series and Andrea Jo DeWerd’s What We Sacrifice for Magic, plus Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Recommended for fans of any of the above or of the recent spate of contemporary witchy novels.”—Library Journal

"I picked this for readers who love witchy suburban fantasies with laugh-out-loud mom-power moments; Wallace's blend of snack-fueled magic and family camaraderie made me giggle, cheer, and feel like I could conquer any Halloween monster-especially if I had juice boxes on hand."—BiblioLifestyle

“This book is great! Witches, vampires, magical cats and humor all rolled into one. A great end-of-the summer book.”—Red Carpet Crash

This is a dnf for me. It’s slow to start, which I was ok to push through, the writing is very good, but the main character is married but crushing on a guy like a teenager.

Her husband is abroad with Doctors Without Borders and I thought I must’ve misheard and she was divorced. But just got to the point where she confirms she’s married but her sister doesn’t like her husband. But she’s fantasying about the naked professor in her shower.

It’s just weird and unexpected. Makes her unlikeable and I don’t know why the author didn’t just make her divorced. (She has three kids).

I don’t love vampire stories but I do like witchy plots which is why I started listening to this. But this is not
for me.

Solid writing but not for me

I wanted to love this story and characters but the protagonist was so annoying I almost couldn't finish it.

Love the storyline. It kept me listening. Couldn’t stop listening. Really entertaining. Worth the money.

I enjoyed this book very much! It had a lot of heart and humor. The narrator also did a great job.

Fun Halloween story

It’s definitely cozy, fun, and engaging. There’s some really interesting and fun parts - like Sea House, I loved the unique and creative descriptions of the Sea House and I wanted to know more about it! The character development was mixed. I wanted to know more about bada$$ Dorcas, and the poor vampire good guys and children were kind of placeholders/cliches. The story was literally like if someone wrote a hybrid fan fiction of Buffy and Practical Magic (both things I love!) but detracted from the book for me. I will read the next in the series, but I hope they emphasize developing characters and building new lore not tired tropes.

Hmmm. Conflicted

This was such a fun vampire killing, witches coming into power, chosen one story. For sure not cozy, as those have lower stakes and this had lots of stabby stakes and world coming to an end curses, so not cozy. It was an utter delight though, so there's that.

Perfect for fans of Buffy and Practical Magic!

This was such a delightful story — it totally transported me back to my Goosebumps reading days. Imagine a lighthearted, witchy Hallmark movie, but in book form. Oh, and did I mention there were witch-hunting vampires too?!

The humor was honestly my favorite part: it’s funny, cheeky, and quirky. My only complaint? I wanted more Tommy! He was so funny and made me laugh every time. It just had all the right vibes, hence the 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beyond the laughs and magic, it also had some important underlying themes including: family bonds, finding your sense of self, and making tough choices. Charming, heartwarming, and just a little spooky — the perfect cozy read.

Audiobook itself gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Great narration!!

This was a perfect first fall read. This authors other witch books are some of my favorites, so I was happy to see that she is writing another series. I love stories focused on family and friendship and this book was right up my alley! Not too many twists and turns but a very interesting and wholesome storyline. Hoping for more books in the series!

Practical magic vibes

Best pov from a worn out stay at home mom! loved how relatable the main character was, abs it has all the vibes of practical magic. Perfect for the fall season.

Relatable, funny, and witchy

I really liked this book… but I would have *loved* it if it didn’t feel so rushed at times. There were topics and happenings that felt too easily forgotten or quickly brushed over, and I really dislike stories that drags on forever, but this was too fast. A tiny bit more reaction to the fact that ‘we are witches and vampires exists’ for instance. The story is fun, and Auralee Wallace really knows how to write snarky characters, I just wanted a tiny bit more debth while keeping it an easy listen. Still recommend though :)
