One of the best books I’ve read in years

A new convert to cozy fantasy, this is exactly the vibe I need in life. Please write more of these, world. Loved this book and can’t wait to read book two.

Such a cozy book

If you want something that is cozy, low-stakes, and whimsical, this is definitely the book for you. I read this whole book in less then 20 hours, it was such a good time. I loved the characters and the story was a very wholesome take on some popular fantasy tropes. If you like shows like the great British bake-off and books that have different kinds of creatures, like fairies, orcs, and talking cats, this is a great book to pick up.

It's sweet but....

The MC, isn't unlikeable but the fact she fights everything and everyone due to anxiety and is a stereo type. For a feel good book it's kinda frustrating

the friendships and growth

disliked: how long it took Arletta to embrace the idea of her and Theo. liked: It took me a few chapters to understand the names and "world" but then fell right into it !

Light reading

I really wanted to love this story. It was a gentle easy read for driving but the main character is as plain as a frozen bagel.
I feel like she may be the very definition of victim mentality. Which sucks so much because it had such a rich world to dive into.

It was adorable and then the ending. Was just…. It was bad. Like that was a waste of my time. If it was a physical book I would have stomped on it. I loved the world building and writing but I will never read another book by this author because I do not trust her.
