Resumen del Editor

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series continues: Lisbeth Salander must face the most important battle of her life, and will finally put her past to rest in this thriller that will “leave Salander’s legion of followers clamoring for more” (The Wall Street Journal). • Also known as the Millennium series

Mikael Blomkvist is trying to reach Lisbeth Salander—the fierce, unstoppable girl with the dragon tattoo. He needs her help unraveling the identity of a man who died with Blomkvist's phone number in his pocket—a man who does not exist in any official records and whose garbled last words hinted at knowledge that would be dangerous to important people. But Lisbeth has disappeared. She's sold her apartment in Stockholm. She's gone dark. She's told no one where she is. And no one is aware that at long last she's got her primal enemy, her twin sister, Camilla, squarely in her sights.

A bit disappointed

There were moments that were excellent, however, it did not capture my attention and imagination as well as did Lagercrantz's earlier efforts. I hope he steps up his game.

End of the story?

Not sure if this will continue. I miss the original author’s style. David L is piecing together bits and pieces okay but it is not the same. There are also numerous errors. Overall it is entertaining, just a bit rough in places.

The best of the Lagercrantz Millennium books

I didn't enjoyed either of the other 2 of David Lagercrantz's entries of the Lisbeth Salender story. But, I couldn't dismiss them either. With "The Girl who Lived Twice", I think Lagercrantz finally created a book that I wasn't comparing to the masterful Stieg Larsson the entire time. It's not as good as "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", but neither was "The Girl that Played with Fire" or "The Girl that Kicked the Hornet's Nest" - though those 2 were almost as good!

Same old same old is getting old

Nothing much different with the story line and the absence of plot is covered over with a frantic tone that grates on the nerves. I enjoyed the proceeding novels very much and I enjoyed this one too...but not as much.

Sounds Like The End Of The Series—I Hope Not

I got hooked on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo when the first 3 books were published. They were riveting, and the movies made in Sweden of the first three books were nothing but amazing. Since Larsson’s untimely death, David Lagercrantz has filled in on the last 3 books with creditable skill. This book did not have the depth or suspense of the earlier books. It seemed to be struggling to have a theme. There was the Sherpa found dead on the street. How does he fit in? There is the continuing feud between Lisbeth and Camilla but there isn’t the same feelings of earlier books. Perhaps that is just because it has all been said. The last text messages between Lisbeth and Mickheil seem to be saying it is time to move on. So maybe this is the last book. I hope not. Simon Vance is a terrific narrator and he portrays the voices with much skill.

Alarmingly disappointing!

if you're a fan of these books, you may be disappointed. It does wrap up the story but it does so by stretching out a subplot that is almost irrelevant and, while interesting in its own right, lends so little to the story that it seems like just a way to make the book long enough to publish. The usual characters the author has spent so much time developing and getting readers to love play minor roles. It feels more like a short story leading to a spin off series and that's not what we love about these books. Three stars was generous and given out of loyalty.

the end?

Another spin on the intertwined relationship of Salander and Blumquist, pulling in an unlikely downcast character that pulls in international intrigue and the past demons of Salander. Fun listen.

Good Not Great

As usual Simon Vance did an amazing job narrating, but the story did not back him up. There are 2 stories going throughout the book, but I really can't figure out why. The plot and ending from the last book would have been MORE than enough to carry this book if it was the main focus. I found myself tuning out when they were talking about the "beggar" story and just wanting to get back to the "sisters"story.

I still enjoyed the book, as I did with the other 5, but it definitely was the worst of the 6.

A fantastic end to the series!

It's amazing how seamless the story seemed to flow from Larsson to Lagercrantz, and it finished in a satisfying way, though I could read/listen to books about Salander forever. Though I see no need for more, as everything finished up, I hope there is!

Love this series

This narrator does a great job distinguishing characters and setting the mood. The author maintained character integrity from the first books of the series.
