Excellent Historical Novel

I enjoyed every aspect of this Audible book. The story is drawn from a part of America's history that I hadn't previously considered and is told in a way that never flinched from the bad, lent plausible mystery and suspense, and offered grace and hope for the future.

History!

Love this book. I think we forgotten our history and I think we’ve forgotten how dark those times were. Thank you for bringing this to light and bringing Hope for the future.

Captivated me

The story was captivating and convicting. The flashbacks were an interesting way to bind the past with the future.

Great Story

This was a captivating story. I was hanging onto the word for the next and the next. Then when there was mentioned the Gulf War - that put me back when we were stationed in the military and my husband was called to duty. The hardships and memories of where I was and he when things were happening. I will read this one again and look for more titles by Ashley Clark.

Beautifully woven story of generations!

Thoroughly enjoyed the layers of this story. Looking forward to the next in the series.
