Despite her fear about approaching the famous author, who is a professor at her school, Megs soon finds herself taking tea with C. S. Lewis and his own brother Warnie, begging them for answers.

Rather than directly telling her where Narnia came from, Lewis encourages Megs to form her own conclusion as he shares the little-known stories from his own life that led to his inspiration. As she takes these stories home to George, the little boy travels farther in his imagination than he ever could in real life.

After holding so tightly to logic and reason, her brother’s request leads Megs to absorb a more profound truth: “The way stories change us can’t be explained. It can only be felt. Like love.”

Smiling and crying

I wasn’t sure what kind of story I was picking up. I thought perhaps it was just a story or someone was using Narnia, kind of like the newer Peter Pan stories, now that the PP copyright is expired.
But no, it was a wonderful story within a story and I am indebted to the author for the heart shown of the fictional characters and also of the beloved CS Lewis. Thank you.

Loved it!

A librarian reccomend this book and listened to it with our four boys ages 11, 13, 15, and 18 and it was an excellent family literary experience.

A Gift

I was very skeptical of this book at first, because the Narnia series is one of my very favorites, and I was afraid that it wouldn’t do it justice. I was so wrong! This book was a gift that brought me right back to the magic I felt when I first read the Narnia books. This is a book I would read over and over again.

One of my new favs

I am an avid reader but this book has quickly climbed to become of of my favorite books. It is not action packed, nor does it have a tragic love story, but somehow it hit all the right spots for me. I love CSLewis and this story made me love the stories he told even more

I wasn't sure about this one but it was excellent.

The story was well written and had some deeper themes that I had not expected. The narration was very good as well. I was concerned the story may be somewhat depressing but it wasn't. I highly recommend this one.

Will likely read it again

I’ve read the Chronicles of Narnia at least three times and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe more times than I can remember. If you love those stories, you belong in this one much the same as you found yourself in that mystical wardrobe years ago.

The narration vivideky enhances the beauty of this majestic adventure . l don't often reread a book but will make an exception so that l can once again immerse myself in the enchanting world of Once Upon A Wardrobe.
