The Psalms express the heart and essence of humanity, covering a wide range of emotions, and the lessons derived from them have had a far-reaching effect through the ages. They are a unique portion of the Old Testament - 150 songs and poems that include hymns of praise, thanksgiving, lament, wisdom, and liturgy. Written over a long period of time by multiple authors, the Psalms illustrate the theology and worship of the Israelites over the centuries. This reading of The Book of Psalms uses the King James Version of the Bible, a translation whose language is praised as some of the greatest poetry ever written. The books of the Bible were written at different times by different authors over a period of approximately 1,500 years from around 1400BC through 90AD. The Old Testament was written in Biblical Hebrew with the exception of the Books written during "the Chaldean captivity", such as Daniel and Ezra, which were written in "Biblical Aramaic" during the "Chaldean captivity". Wonderful Find
Would you consider the audio edition of The Book of Psalms to be better than the print version?
Years ago this was originally a cassette format also by Michael York. I listened to it every night and loved it. The cassette finally broke. I was thrilled to find this in an audio version! No one does Psalms like Michael York.

This is the Psalms from the Bible so it does not have characters per se. David is the main "character" and Michael York does David brilliantly.
