Another!

Love this series! Interesting story and terrific narration by Sam, who excels with the wry comedy. Highly recommend the Hathcliff Lennox mystery series by Karen Baugh Menuhin.

Belvedere was full of mysteries

Belvidere murders was certainly full of mysteries, it keeps you wondering just who is it this time! You will love these characters and you will definitely keep turning pages or continue listening! So well written, you feel like you were there!

Good, as usual!

I always have enjoyed the narration. However, this time there was one character that was really hard to listen to. Once I realized which character this voice sounded like, I couldn't stop giggling. I won't tell you, so you can figure it out...

Have loved this series until now

This series is so well written, holds you're attention from beginning to end. without the need of cuss words until now. Had it been any other than cussing God I probably wouldn't have minded as much.
One of the female characters' voice was so high pitched it was irritating & unrealistic.
I usually give straight 5 star reviews, but can't on this one.

annoying voices

I found it hard to listen to the voices and felt the female voices were demeaning. The dog bark was clear but too load compared to the human voices.

Wonderfully complex web of mystery & murder

Loved the plot as I’ve enjoyed all the Heathcliff Lenox mysteries. The plots are well constructed and really hold the listener’s attention. Although I’ve had no issue previously with earlier books, the narration in this one was poor when it came to voicing the older women characters. So very high and screechy, it was not only painful to listen but almost wholly non- understandable. I had to get the book on Kindle so as to go over these parts. And kind of caricatures of older women, as well. In actuality, many older women’s voices actually deepen - they don’t get higher. It was even difficult with one or two younger women characters as well. I hope this isn’t going to be an issue in future.

I LOVE this series but when I saw that Sam Dewhurst-Phillips wasn't continuing on as the narrator, I didn't purchase another book. When I listened to the first book in this series, I thought that this narrator, Sam, was slower than slow and wasn't sure that I could finish the book. Now, I can't imagine listening to anyone else narrate the series. Sam Dewhurst-Phillips is perfect at narrating, accents and each voice fits the character so well. I'm so very sad that I can't finish the series but I'd rather not purchase another book than be dissapointed in the next narrator. I'm sure he's a fine narrator but Sam is Healthcliff, plain and simple. Perhaps I'll purchase the book and read it - if I could only find the time.
