Love Eygpt

This was such a great book with a plot twist at the end. I was not expecting some of the twists and turns. I was a day fun listen and made me want to get out and walk more so I could listen longer. I can't wait to hear about Blix's next adventure.

Murder Among the Pyramids is just what I expect from Sara Rosett. The story is well written with engaging characters. I look forward to the next book.

Wonderful New Series

As an avid fan of Ms. Rosett's High Society Lady Detective Mystery series, I was excited to read this new series, and it did not disappoint. The characters are interesting; the mystery complex; and the spin on the Egypt/Cairo/Pyramids trope manages to avoid the banal. Our MC, Blix Windway, brings an energy to the story, in part due to her rather compelling job, that of a travelogue lecturer. No, she does not give a lecture in this book, but she and her trusty Brownie camera are photographing all the people, places, and things for future presentations. Apparently traveling UP the pyramids, even having picnics at the top, was the done thing, and no matter the amazing views, I can tell you that the entire scene had my vertigo tinged nerves on edge. I cannot wait to see where she takes us next. There is also the requisite (at least for me) budding friendship and maybe, just maybe, a potential love interest. This one checked all the boxes for me, and left me wanting more.

The narrator is critical to any audiobook, and Elizabeth Klett does a wonderful job voicing the characters.

Thrilling and exciting upbeat cozy

I’ve found a new favorite author! This book came up as a suggestion based on my interests and since I was going on a trip and needed some entertainment for the plane ride, I bought it on impulse. I have loved this book and fell right into the time period, the setting, (1920s) and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. It’s hard to find fresh, intelligent writing that isn’t stuffy or overdone. This book clicked all the boxes and surpassed my expectations.

The influence of Elizabeth Peters.

Good storyline, but I found the mispronunciation of Ezbekia, dahabeyah and galabeeah annoying. Simple errors like that detract if the reader is familiar with a subject.

The storyline and all the different twist and turns that came about during the book

I like this book as I do like the high Society lady book with Olive. This young woman has a different lifestyle and a different story but follows along the same sort of path, but I really liked her independence and the fact that she thinks things through and act on them.

Excellent adventure wrapped in a murder mystery.

Wonderful new series adventuring around Egypt solving murders while touring all the beautiful sights. I can’t wait to see where Blix travels next.

Great new series discovered … in Egypt

From many other rave reviews I started this series. Like jumping into a lake, one really never knows if you’d find it to your liking. This book exceeded my expectations! Delightful and informative, humorous and well edited. I look forward to many more in the series.

Sara Rosette is a student of Agatha Christie and Elisabeth Peter’s and does them both proud, in my opinion.

Bleh….

Predictable story line, boring dialogue, horrible narrator. I adore the Amelia Peabody books, this is mot even close. Actually painful to listen.
