Fabulous Book

I listen to hundreds of audio books from many genres and have a tendency to get jaded. This book was great, funny at times, with great characters, plenty of surprises, action and plot twists. The story is also a very original premise and is well thought out. I cannot image anyone not liking this book, except maybe for hardcore bible thumpers as it does qustion the authenticity of the religious aspects (yes this is what I mean, listen to the book and find out) of the Bible.

Fantastic book. One of those where you will be finding any excuse to listen. Get it!

This was such a great story! You immediately get drawn into the characters and what they’re doing. I loved the dialog! Very unique twist on an old tale.

A Modern take on a Classic Style.

Out of respect for the author I don't want to assume that the classic pulp-style adventure story was the source of their inspiration, but you get a lot of that which is great. The characters are wonderfully flawed, cynical, and hilariously human and if you can't deal with the fact that human beings swear then I would skip this book cause it's a fine example of an author making use of the more crass parts of a person's vocabulary. Treasure hunting, secret societies, and the dark knowledge of our primordial past mixed with today's world of social media, internet celebrities, and all the other nonsense that the human race thinks is so important. Is it a story that's been told before? Yes, stories are like that, and good stories like this one do it well.

Escapist fluff

Entertaining bit of fantasy cloaked in realism. Rutgers writes well with some fun dialogue. Williams is quite easy and enjoyable to listen to.

SciFi Edge-of-Dystopia

I normally don’t go for the genre of Sci-Fi, but in an effort to broaden my scope of reading (so I can give honest opinions and recommendations to my high school students), I chose this book from my Book of the Month Club (https://www.mybotm.com4jn2u7tvxwa).
It delivered: suspense, intelligent storyline, mystery, and dystopia.

Fantastic!!!!

I’ve had this book for a while now and haven’t gotten around to it until my sister read it and gushed about it nonstop so I figured that I’d give it a shot. I have a long commute and figured that I’d just listen to it. It was so enthralled by it that I found myself sitting in the car after I’d arrive at work or at home just to listen a little while longer. If you’re a fan of Indiana Jones, National Treasure and the X-Files then you will not be disappointed. Sorry, I suck at reviews. Read/listen to this book!!!!

Creepy, unpredictable and a lot of fun

Great story with likable, well-developed characters that feel lifelike. The plot was great, all of the twists felt earned and everything added up in the final act. Highly recommend for fans of adventure, horror and mythology.

Performance was solid, a couple falters with accents and stuff, but not to an extent where it was too distracting. It never gets in the way of the story.
