this was a great book. I loved listening to it. the author is really imaginative.

Love the characters

Great story but a little dry in many places. Overall, well performed with a good story line.

Good story set in Rural America

Liked the premise. EMP is a solid foundation for a good story.
Solid character development.
Opportunity to have been a much longer story by addressing things like Nuclear power plants.
Couple of bubbles including inadvertently switching from Franklin NC to Franklin TN. lol. And 'putting the truck in driver as well as 'grinding the gears' on the same vehicle.
Overall a good read/listen and I will explore other titles by this author.

100% disclosure, I'm a native of the Tri-City area of East Tennessee so listening to these books based so well around my native home was a unique experience allowing me to better visualize the areas so well described in this series of books. It was refreshing to see my home so well portrayed, even under such trying circumstances. The author's skill at character and world building on this series was very well done and I don't hesitate to give them 5 stars across the board.

Overall solid read

I liked the series, but was not my favorite work from TL. Great character development, and storyline, but for some reason I never felt drawn all the way in “can’t push pause” style like I normally am.

Another post apocalyptic story. I enjoy the subject matter . My biggest gripe is that the narrator needs to check some pronunciations of words. AND The Great Smoky Mountains are a National Park… not a state park. Nationally loved by millions as proven by the multitude who visit there annually!

This book series was very well written and narrated. Each character was very believable. I loved this series of books.

EMP lite

Extremely well developed characters including their wardrobe descriptions and romantic interests. A lot of characters. Bad guys were bad but I didn’t get the feeling times were really that hard post EMP or CME when 70-90 percent of the population may die. I only hope if the time comes this storyline mirrors events for the majority of the country.

it's ok.

pretty bland feminist drivel. you know the stuff. all the lady's are able to kill trained soldiers without remorse but break down in tears when the see their husband. basic shtf bs. story is ok at best. becomes repetitive after the 2nd book.

Disappointing

I spend a lot of time in a vehicle and listen to about 40-60 hours a month worth of books. I enjoy dystopian stories, this one however is geographically incorrect over and over. Confused Franklin TN and Franklin NC sometimes in the same chapter. Wounds and wound recovery are not believable, vehicle information incorrect. I understand things are missed in books, but just too many mistakes. Couldn’t even finish the series. I like the storyline, but poorly thought out on the detail level. Not a fan of the narrator’s voice on this one.
