From the author of Ultimate Level 1: Bonded to a powerful dragon, Kaen finds himself at the helm of challenging expeditions . . . and an unexpected love.

Before Kaen can win a battle—much less a war—he must learn how to harness the incredible energy of his lifestone, and identify who is friend and who is foe as others join his cause. Trained by the aging Elies and his dragon, Tharnok, Kaen and his own dragon, Pammon, urge each other harder and higher with every practice run, all in service of the fight that is ultimately Kaen's destiny.

The thrill of challenges in far-flung kingdoms ignites a kind of joy Kaen has never felt before. Even the sometimes-messy work of learning Pammon's quirks is exciting. But it's a woman named Ava who lights an unmistakably passionate spark in him. However, he must fulfill his purpose before laying claim to the bright promise of a future with the woman he loves.

Meanwhile, Kaen's dreams are haunted by Stioks, the heartless villain responsible for his father's death. Now, he must determine whether to risk flying across the great waters to find the land of the dragons and recruit some aid—or face off against Stioks directly, despite being massively outnumbered.

Encompassing adventures both breathtaking and perilous, Rise of the Last Dragon Rider is the thrilling continuation of the story of a hero's journey—perfect for fans of Christopher Paolini and Rick Riordan alike.

The second volume of the hit LitRPG adventure series—with almost two million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

I liked that Kane can do lightning shot and I hope that pamen has an egg and Callie bonds with it.

This is one of my favorite series. The blend of Dragon rider bond with litrpg is definitely done right.

story line was good and the character building was not outrages. I do love the humor that is throughout the book.

Another excellent book in this series. Lots of interesting new developments and excitement to come for the next book. I look forward to reading it.

I have one nitpick that genuinely annoyed me to no end. I will preface that this is a minor spoiler. If you’re cool with that, then keep reading.

Kaen through a series of events gains a skill called poison resistance. It also gets power leveled just like some of his other skills to an absurd degree. Yet, despite this skill, he still is somehow unable to hold his liquor. To be fair, there is still room for this happenstance to be intentional, but I kinda doubt it.

An argument could be made that in this fantasy world, alcohol is not inherently harmful but just a fun loopy liquid for adults to enjoy. However, I dislike that idea.

The other thought I had was that because it’s a skill that might not necessarily be passive and because Kaen might not consider alcohol a poison, the skill never triggered.

Regardless, alcohol is inherently harmful to the liver and body so therefore it is a poison.

I think I was also partially annoyed that the potential dynamic of this skill and the presence of alcohol could have played an interesting role in earning some clout with the dwarves.

Oh well. The book was still amazing nonetheless.
