a unique isaki story

I love this story it take an isaki and turns it around your not the hero your a sword and you choose who to help with your ability its a really good listener

Just as good as when I read it.

I have read this book at least twice and since then the anime has come out. I have also read the manga and I must say I still like the version of Amanda in the light novel the best. It was funny in manga and anime having her obsessed with Fran but the laid back and cool character in the light novel is best. Also, I like how the anime only covered the stuff that that took place before and during the stay of Alyssa. This does make this particular book feel like two in one but still a good story.

Good Listening

I Will definetely recommend this book and read the complete series at least 2 times flow sone missing parts

Chilling performance.

When you get to the diary, you’ll understand. Absolute perfection. The voice actor went beyond reading with voices to truly understanding the characters and bringing them to life. Brava!

Annoying sounds

This one catches up to where season 1 of the anime ends relatively quickly. While I didn't love the section after that, it was still solid. My biggest complaint about this book is with the primary villain's laugh, which I guess is a pretty good "biggest complaint." Sound effects have to be the hardest thing for a narrator to do. The first book had essentially none, or at least ones the narrator was fine at. The primary villain in this one is so cringe-worthy to listen to. Enough so that I had to really think about if I thought the series worth continuing to listen to. Ultimately, I decided that was hopefully just a quirk of this book and hopefully there won't be such annoying sounds in future books. Fingers crossed.

Momento Mori

I thought this was gonna be an epic quest. An adventure into the undead dungeon, but that last chapter got me thinking about what my last words might be. Well done author.

Great Japanese fantasy

I love the story and characters, the descriptions and writing of action scenes could be better but I still love the story.

Nice Sequel

It was nice to see Fran and Sensei continue to grow and their adventures continue. as you would expect, there was more fighting in this volume than the first one. The story continues to be cute and a bit cheesy in the usual way of light novels and anime, but that's to be expected. I'm not sure I liked it quite as much as the first volume but it was still an entertaining listen.

Very charming!

so many charming characters and the reader does such a great job giving them life. All around this is such a great story with a lovely old school feel that makes me feel like a kid again.

In book two we are following fran and teacher as they continue to help the guild. On their adventures they meet a A rank adventure named Amanda who is one of the strongest in this guild. Amanda has the title of protector of children but fran is still weary of her. Everyone is questioning the guild on the ranking of fran since she is ranking up so fast. So now the guild is requesting frans help on a quest to prove that she has truly earned her rank. While in the dungeon they get ambushed by trap spiders that are way stronger then they should be and fran gets separated from teacher. Desperately teacher searches for fran with no avail so he trys summoning magic to see if he can summon fran. Unfortunately he cannot but he can summon a wolf. The wolf tracks down fran and she is rescued and they conquer the dungeon. So now we have fran teacher and jet the dire wolf. After getting back to alessa teacher and fran want to get stronger and leave . They encounter a floating island and are easily deflected by the enemy. This makes sends them into a unlikely encounter with the necromancer jean. With jeans help they are now going to conquer the undead dungeon on the floating island! After a beating a couple floor bosses they encounter the dungeon boss which turns out to be a lich! They end up beating the dungeon and level up quite a bit. Our story leaves off with fran and teacher leaving jeans laboratory after reading the lichs diary they got as a drop.
