An Anime Come to Life in Audiobook Form

This isekai story completely pulled me in from start to finish. The world-building was vivid, the pacing sharp, and the characters felt alive — like I was actually watching an anime rather than listening to an audiobook.
The assassin being more overpowered than the hero was such a fun twist that kept things unpredictable and exciting. The narration brought the story to life, and I couldn’t stop listening once I started.
If you enjoy anime-style storytelling, strong character arcs, and a mix of humor and action, this is absolutely worth your time. Can’t wait for Book 2 — I’m all in for the next adventure!

Didn’t Disappoint

This one didn’t disappoint. I love the light novel, and the manga, and the upcoming anime is here! The details of the novel is much better and I love it.

Just bad

I listened to the preview and decided not to get this title. I then saw they made it into an anime so I thought maybe I missed something. I didn’t. Just b grade writing that is super cringe worthy

So Stupid

You're an assassin with a near perfect skill for hiding your presence. You find out someone in power is putting a curse on the hero using some sort of crazy stone. What do you do? Silently sneak into their bedroom and kill them? No. Don't be silly. You sneak into their room, reveal yourself to them and show your face to them, tell them you know all about their schemes, cut the stone with your super awesome katana, and then leave them alive and go sleep in a nearby tree. What could possibly go wrong? Seriously, I think the author might be mentally handicapped.

Unfortunately, most of the plot is just as asanine. The entertainment value in this book is the same that one gets from watching a car accident or train wreck. It's actually kind of fun to sit back and be amazed that someone released this into the world. It's so flawed, it's almost endearing.

Promising, but dissapointing.

Initially the world felt like it was building a good story, but alas, it is just poorly written. Amelia's story was settled with cartoonish simplicity. The cat companion joins the party in a nonsensical process. The main character, Akira, is incredibly incel-ish. Not in his way of handling women, aside in how the other princess is written to be a stuck up two dimensional brat. More in the way he views other men. As inherently competitive for just existing and pathetically bitter on looks. Much like the way incels whine incessantly about "chads". The writing does little to mature the main character either, and instead gives him with cringey quips to look oh so cool in front of all the "weaklings" around him. No emotional depth, just insincere edgelord quips. It's all so incredibly cartoonish in both it's delivery of dialogue and story writing. Like a 15 year old boy's concept of "cool".
