Acerca de esta escucha

They came to earth—Pestilence, War, Famine, Death—four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all.

When Pestilence comes for Sara Burn’s town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.

Too bad no one told her Pestilence can’t be killed.

Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and he’s eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer she’s with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her, and hers towards him.

And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process.

I am utterly in love with this book, and the excellent job done reading it. I honestly don't know who did the better job. Get it. Listen to it. It's so worth it. It was funny, it was tragic, it had an amazing ending. I'm so happy I subscribed to the romance package or I may never have found this!

Ridiculously good!

I have been in love with Laura's work for ages and was over the moon when I heard what the new series was going to be about since it's one of my favorite themes. I'm so happy with the way Jones portrays the characters and how her melody adds to the story. I read it first a few months back but she adds a different time than I had in my head but it works perfectly.

AMAZING AS ALWAYS!💖💖💖

It had so much potential! I couldn’t finish it, but if you’re in the mood for unrepentant romance with a.... fine..... heroine this is for you.

Pestilence is the first book in The Four Horsemen Series. A paranormal romance set in a dystopian world, Laura Thalassa has created a magical world full of action, suspense, and tender romance. Sara Burn is fighting for survival due to the end of the world plague (which is killing off everyone). The plague is being delivered by Pestilence the first of the Four Horsemen. When Sara attempts to kill him, she is instead taken by him and made his prisoner. The banter between the two is off the charts as the disdain is real for both of them. He cannot stand the human race and she is mortified to be riding around the world with the man who is dealing death out to everyone. As both continue to travel the world, a friendship begins to form between the two. Sara is conflicted over the feelings she is having for him and the fact that he is the reason for the death and destruction taking over the earth. And yet, as the emotional bond between the two begins to grow, passion follows and both fall madly in love with each other. How can they sustain lasting love when his sole purpose is to destroy the earth?

Overall, Pestilence is an absolute must-read for paranormal romance fans. Pestilence is one broody alpha male and paired with spunky and headstrong Sara Burn, a perfect match is forged. The tempo of the read flows naturally as the stakes are high for the entire world. The pull between right and wrong is explored to the fullest as Pestilence enraptures Sara completely into his life and his arms. This is my first Laura Thalassa read and I can guarantee it will not be last. I look forward to getting to know the next Horsemen.

I absolutely loved this book. From page one to the last, I was sucked into the storyline and the fantastic writing style. I will be reading many more of Laura's books. The narrator hit it on the nose. She has a flare for the true emotions of the characters, making the story so intense that you can picture the scenes in your head. I will be rereading this book for years to come!

Couldn't put it down!

This is probably one of the most outstanding fantasy/supernatural romances and romance in general, that I’ve ever read. So many books are too hasty with their characters- they never develop enough and then the relationship doesn’t ever feel believable or flawed. Overall this ruins the moments when the romance thrives for me. But this book does it all I was hanging on every. Halter and I am so excited to read all of her books now. Thalassa is hilarious and gives each of her characters so many human qualities that they come to life off the pages. Read all of her books but start with this one. Outstanding!

What a fantastic listen! The characters are so real and understood through the writing of this book. I was rapt each time I was able to listen. Humanly real but with an air of fantasy. I enjoyed Sarah Burns and Pestilence (I'll save the spoiler re: his name). I will absolutely be getting book 2.
The narrator does an amazing job of conveying emotion from the characters. No weird tics or variations in tone that would be an annoyance (and I'm pretty particular). She did a great job!

I almost didnt read this based on other reviews. I am so glad I did! the romance is gripping as well as the whole post apocalyptic world. The nature of the world and violence made me cringe at time but it was worth it. the female lead curses WAYY to much to be believe and that's coming from a fan of the F bomb and all its glory.

Too much cursing but great story!
