Love that this picked up right where Mine to claim left off. Quick easy SPICY read. The narrator for this Alexander Cendese was amazing.

Such a great story!

This is the continuation from Mine to Claim which was in Rex’s POV. Here in Mine to Protect we get Devon’s POV. These two are so intense but also just so sweet. Rex is older and feels he has to keep going and be in charge no matter what. Even when he gets a cold that knocks him flat. Devon knows he has to take care of Rex but convincing him to stay in one spot long enough to feel better is a bit of a challenge.

Devon and Rex have their own backstories and it brings a different set of challenges for each to overcome. This is a very good story and I highly recommend but you do need to read/listen to Mine to Claim first.

We are finally starting to see a relationship develop between Devon and Rex. And I am loving it! I love how they will do anything to protect each other. We get to see a little bit more of the post apocalyptic world they are living in and learn more about Devon’s past.

Rex is so freaking strong. The alpha of their duo. He knows what he needs to do to survive and fights to stay in control. But when he gets sick, Devon forces Rex to take a break and recover. Then Devon takes control. I loved their push & pull.

Devon is so feisty, but so sweet. He loves being a brat and pushing Rex’s buttons. He tries to hide it, but he’s falling hard for Rex. I loved seeing the vulnerable side of him. He will do anything to protect Rex, including putting himself in danger just to made sure Rex is safe.

The audio for this book is really good. Alexander Cendese does an amazing job narrating Devon. He was perfect for Devon! You can feel his fear and his desire. This is the first time I’ve listened to him and will definitely listen to him again.

Mine To Protect is book 2 in the Wasteland Temptations series. This 4 book series of novellas is dark, fun, & dirty. They are all quick reads with LOTS of spice. EV Olsen has created an interesting post apocalyptic world. I’m excited to see where she takes it.

I will deny it forever but even made me cry sometimes.

As part two (and book 2) of the Wasteland series, we continue with Devon and Red story, this time told in Devon’s POV. A bit longer than book 1, we can see Devon’s thoughts more clearly, why he struggles the way he does and what’s holding him back. With a sick Rex, Devon needs to do anything necessary to take care of his man and make sure they all survive to see another day.

I love how this book was way more emotional than the first one, as we see more vulnerability and feelings, as well as that mean bratty streak we adore in Devon. The smex was on point and, although we see another couple for books 3 & 4, I can’t get enough of these two. For this to bee EV’s debut series, it’s so good I can’t never put it down!

ALC REVIEW PART:

I’ve always loved Alexander Cendese (got way obsessed on Puckboys audiobooks and it was downhill from there) so I was excited to see how he would portray Devon this time, and lemme tell you ya, he nailed it. The cheekiness, the vulnerability, the sassiness, everything was on point for me, and don’t get me started on his other character’s voices. 10/10 I’m happy with it and it got me hooked from moment one.

This story is outstanding. There's so much story in this short book. The plot is so not what I was expecting. Narration by Alexander Cendese is absolutely perfect. he did an amazing job bringing life to the characters and the continuation of this book.

I absolutely loved this one. I loved that we got to see the continuation of Red and Devon’s story but this time it’s in Devon’s story. We also get to learn more about Devon and his past.

Also, Alexander did so amazing that I was so enthralled with how he was so in tune with Devon’s emotion.

I cannot wait for the next installment. I want more of what’s to come.

Protective love

Mine To Protect is book 2 in the Waste Land Temptations series and I am eating up this post apocalyptic world. This book continues to follow Rex and Devon as they fight to survive the wasteland together. Rex feels the need as the older one to protect Devon but when he gets sick, Devon decides Rex is his to protect. When Devon decides to take out anything that comes his way that could harm Rex I was swooning. Alexander Cendese did an amazing job voicing both Rex and Devon. We have spice and an interesting plot which is kinda rare but this Mine To Protect has it.

Apocalyptic MM Romance At Its Best!

Mine to Protect is the second audiobook in E.V. Olsen’s Wasteland Temptations series, and I think I loved this one even more than the first book. This is the continuation of Rex and Devon’s story, which picks up three months after the end of the first book, Mine to Claim. While Mine to Claim was written from Rex’s POV, Mine to Protect is written from Devon’s POV. I have to admit, after the first book, I liked Devon. But I’m not sure I was wholly invested in his character (at least, not as much as Rex). But after listening to this audiobook, I am now at the “Take all my money” level of investment with that beautiful brat! We get a lot more of his back story, which accounts for his brattiness in large part. Although I’m pretty sure some of it just comes natural. Good thing Rex thoroughly enjoys keeping his brat in line. This story was definitely spicy, but it also really pulled at my heart strings as Devon goes above and beyond to protect Rex when he falls ill. By this point, he’s decided that Rex belongs to him, and absolutely nothing (not even sickness) and no one is going to take Rex from him. He refuses to leave his side unless it’s to eliminate a threat or search for medicine. There’s definitely a heart of gold under all that brattiness, and it was a true joy to see it shine. I am truly loving this dystopian romance and can’t wait for the next audiobook in the series. The solo narration for this story is provided by Alexander Cendese, and he is absolute perfection as Devon. Not that he doesn’t also voice Rex beautifully… because he does. But since the majority of the book is Devon, that’s where he’s really allowed to shine. His emotional and impassioned performance perfectly captures Devon’s bratty attitude along with his confusion, joy, and fear regarding his intense longing for Rex. Alexander also flawlessly captures the childhood trauma that causes Devon to want to run from his feelings for Rex while at the same time wanting to keep him as close as possible. This beautifully-written novella is further elevated by this outstanding narration, making this a can’t-miss title for any lover of MM romance audio.

this was just as good as the first one!! this series is so much fun and i love hearing them come to life with these audios! and this narrator is doing such a good job, i’m loving how this series is sounding and i’m excited for the rest!
