Love that this picked up right where Mine to claim left off. Quick easy SPICY read. The narrator for this Alexander Cendese was amazing.

Such a great story!

This is the continuation from Mine to Claim which was in Rex’s POV. Here in Mine to Protect we get Devon’s POV. These two are so intense but also just so sweet. Rex is older and feels he has to keep going and be in charge no matter what. Even when he gets a cold that knocks him flat. Devon knows he has to take care of Rex but convincing him to stay in one spot long enough to feel better is a bit of a challenge.

Devon and Rex have their own backstories and it brings a different set of challenges for each to overcome. This is a very good story and I highly recommend but you do need to read/listen to Mine to Claim first.

We are finally starting to see a relationship develop between Devon and Rex. And I am loving it! I love how they will do anything to protect each other. We get to see a little bit more of the post apocalyptic world they are living in and learn more about Devon’s past.

Rex is so freaking strong. The alpha of their duo. He knows what he needs to do to survive and fights to stay in control. But when he gets sick, Devon forces Rex to take a break and recover. Then Devon takes control. I loved their push & pull.

Devon is so feisty, but so sweet. He loves being a brat and pushing Rex’s buttons. He tries to hide it, but he’s falling hard for Rex. I loved seeing the vulnerable side of him. He will do anything to protect Rex, including putting himself in danger just to made sure Rex is safe.

The audio for this book is really good. Alexander Cendese does an amazing job narrating Devon. He was perfect for Devon! You can feel his fear and his desire. This is the first time I’ve listened to him and will definitely listen to him again.

Mine To Protect is book 2 in the Wasteland Temptations series. This 4 book series of novellas is dark, fun, & dirty. They are all quick reads with LOTS of spice. EV Olsen has created an interesting post apocalyptic world. I’m excited to see where she takes it.

I will deny it forever but even made me cry sometimes.

As part two (and book 2) of the Wasteland series, we continue with Devon and Red story, this time told in Devon’s POV. A bit longer than book 1, we can see Devon’s thoughts more clearly, why he struggles the way he does and what’s holding him back. With a sick Rex, Devon needs to do anything necessary to take care of his man and make sure they all survive to see another day.

I love how this book was way more emotional than the first one, as we see more vulnerability and feelings, as well as that mean bratty streak we adore in Devon. The smex was on point and, although we see another couple for books 3 & 4, I can’t get enough of these two. For this to bee EV’s debut series, it’s so good I can’t never put it down!

ALC REVIEW PART:

I’ve always loved Alexander Cendese (got way obsessed on Puckboys audiobooks and it was downhill from there) so I was excited to see how he would portray Devon this time, and lemme tell you ya, he nailed it. The cheekiness, the vulnerability, the sassiness, everything was on point for me, and don’t get me started on his other character’s voices. 10/10 I’m happy with it and it got me hooked from moment one.
