Surprise

I was totally caught off guard by how awesome this book was! Both of them were a surprise because when you start it doesn’t feel like they are going any where and then…. Surprise! Good books

Good story line - but the narrators could be upgraded!

Liked the story line, narrator fur the lead character Leland was good, but whom ever narrated for the coroner, Terry, Simon’s mother, and a few other men and women - they’re voices were whinny, very unflattering , irritating and very hard to listen to. Won’t listen to books narrated by these folks again.

Narration

The voices were horrible. Men sounded like old hillbillies with chaw in their mouths. The females sounded like they were whispering. Some sounded like they were soliciting. I could not finish the book. I’m done with the series.

Likeable characters and..

There was no character progression. Not that its required. it was interesting from beginning to end. As a gamer that started with Pong, i know a bit about games. The facts about online games were mostly correct. An online game is the internet in an artificial and ethereal setting but mostly without links to other sites. Some treat any particular game as a chat room and that could lead to trouble for the naive. Tell your kids not to use their real name and address in an online game. They won't listen but tell them anyway. Ok, enough of my soapbox preaching. All in all the story was as close to reality as a fiction book gets. There were the usual unanswered loose ends but not too many as to make it frustrating. There were just enough to make a good lead-in to the next book. At least that is what i think Kirkland will use them for.

Leave the pandemic out of stories!

We read books to enter a world different than our own. Leave the pandemic out of it! I’d give this one a better rating if the narrator could do better voices. Slowwww speak for other male characters.

The story line is good

I wish he would have different readers for the characters. The voice changes the reader does are not real good.

Great legal thriller!

Influencing Justice is the 2nd in the Small Town Lawyer series by Peter Kirkland. A social media celebrity is murdered and Simone Baker, a rival, is charged with murder. As Leland Munroe defends Simone, he finds problems with the police investigation, including evidence tampering, he is threatened, and begins to suspect a wider conspiracy. Or, is that just Leland’s suspicious mind after spending 2 decades as a prosecutor? The narration by JJ Hosenfeld is wonderful. He brings the characters and story to life. I received a free copy of this audiobook for my honest review.

Gripping until the end

Enjoyed the story. A great sequel. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Leland has a great legal mind

This was good.

As much as I wish there were more in this about what the find out near the end, it was a good story. I liked it and I’m glad I read it. I like mystery so it was good .
The narrator was new to me and some of his voices were a bit odd, but I would listen to him again.
