I was so surprised by this book in the series, I laughed, I cried, I held my breathe , the narrators were superb, made it so much better!!! It has love, heartbreak and the perfect ending!!! You have to listen to this one!!!

Ronan seemed one way in the 4 previous books but you truly got to see him for who he is deep down in this one.

I absolutely love this series! and this story was one of my favs. My only complaint is the female narrator is awful. She makes the chapters drag out way longer than they should with her over dramatic, drug out, breathy reading....especially during non-steamy scenes when it's completely unnecessary. Very cringy and annoying.

Wow. 🥵 Highest Bidder really brought on the taboo and I am HERE for it! What a ride that was. I love the audio book so much, Lessa Lamb and Stephen Borne do a lovely narration!

It's so exciting to finally have some Ronan background! We see him occasionally cameo throughout the series, but never in the spotlight. So getting his story was really great. And also, devastating. His grief that he's been carrying is so heavy, even after healing, it's a lot to have experienced.

Then there's Daisy, more so currently dealing with her grief and making her way to California to find the mysterious man that bankrolled a whole account for her that she finds after her mom's passing. For me, Daisy is definitely a bit naive, but she's also young and learning what she wants in life. Whereas Ronan has already done that.

My guilty pleasure is a dirty age gap story so tbh I'm obsessed with this. Their heat was sizzling. 🔥 the kink was fun and exciting, and they even got to play a little extra too. I don't want this series to end, but I'm so looking forward to reading Madame next!

It's no surprise to anyone that Sara Cate wrote us another five-star banger. 🤌🏻💋

I've had my eye on Ronan Kade with his little appearances throughout the rest of the series, and to finally get this man in action was more than I could have asked for.

Daddy Ronan gives Emerson a run for his money (pun not intended).

"You're suffering, baby girl. Do you want Daddy to make you feel better?"

For anyone who has ever been a complete mess and just wished there was someone to help take care of you while you learned to take care of yourself, this book was written for us.

"Life can be very poetic, Daisy. But that doesn't mean it will always be pretty."

Daisy is so relatable in her struggles, especially as a young woman just trying to find her place. The pain and grief that both she and Ronan deal with throughout the story is such an honest representation of how much the bad makes you appreciate the good.

"But it turns out convincing yourself that someone else has it worse doesn't actually make you feel better. Because sadness is just... all around."

To wrap this up, just because a relationship is unconventional doesn't mean that it isn't the most real, most intense, and most world-altering love you will ever experience. And screw the haters. 😌

Definitely check your triggers for this one. If you take the leap, you'll be begging your partner to call you Baby Girl when it's all said and done.

Edit After Audio: Depending on how I'm feeling at the moment, I would rate this book between 4-5 ⭐️. A lot of criticism came from how much Daisy cries, and I think that opinion is rooted in ingrained misogyny because what's wrong with her being more open with her emotions? Did she get on my nerves at times? Yes, but not because of her emotional reactions to things.

Anyway, the audio was 🔥.
